Josie Bissett Returns to New Melrose Place

Looks like Melrose Place is getting more tenants – Josie Bissett is returning to her old haunt as a guest star, PEOPLE confirms.

Bissett reprises her role as Jane Andrews Mancini, sister to Laura Leighton's Sydney Andrews, in at least one episode and may do more, according to a source.

Bissett joins original Melrose castmates Leighton and Thomas Calabro when the new incarnation airs on the CW network this fall.

Meanwhile Bissett's ex-husband, Rob Estes (also a former Melrose alum), appears on the CW in 90210.

Even though I hate Jane, it would have been wrong for her to be MIA after Sydney dies (again).

Awesome. Jane always annoyed me but it makes sense for her to return. Jane and Michael alone have a lot of unfinished business.

Yay....I am excited that Jane/Josie is returning. Hopefully they will address the fact that Jane was pregnant with Michael's baby when the original show ended.

Not surprised.

I would be shocked if we hear about any one else returning outside of who we know of. I can't see anyone else returning except for maybe Jo.

Well, that wouldn't end well  .

Seriously, I think many of us expected this considering Sydney's demise and with Micheal on the show.

Ew, I'm not sure who I hated more between Jane and Alison, LoL. They were both two of the most annoying characters on the show to me. Throw in Billy, and you could have had the Annoying Trifecta!

I didn't mind Alison. Drunk Alison was the best.

I didn't realize Josie and Rob had divorced. That's more interesting news than her coming back.

Never liked Jane. Too sanctimonious for my tastes. Never thought of her as a heroine, just a pain.

I only liked Jane when she grew her hair out long
and become a total bitch in that one season.

I still find it completely retarded that Syd faked her death on her wedding day.

Craig blew his brains out because of her death.

Having her return for one episode
makes no sense to me.

Hopefully they'll explain it that she had nothing to do with her alleged death that someone took her and hid her or something. I would hate it if she faked her death since she really seemed to be in love on her wedding day.

Also, she's going to be on more than one ep. Apparently there are a lot of flashbacks involved in this show.

I've heard Michael helped her fake her death. He is a doctor, after all.

Syd's role in this new series doesn't make any sense because she was never supposed to be here in the first place. This was supposed to be Amanda. Heather Locklear turned down the role so TPTB just got Laura Leighton and resurrected Sydney.

I do think it would've made more sense with Amanda, especially the part about her being a mentor to the kids. I could see that more from someone successful like Amanda. But I'm still glad that never happened. Killing Amanda off in the first minutes of the pilot would've been a huge, huge mistake. It would've gotten big ratings (bc people want to see Heather Locklear) and more mainstream press, but I think the backlash would be huge when people realize she's dead.
