Crystal Chappell is interviewed by both SOD and SOW this week. Following are the Otalia-related excerpts from these interviews. (The Days-related excerpts are posted here.)
- Chappell says that she's a "big romance fan". She says she believes couples should end up together: "I spent ten years on GL never getting the guy and ending up with a woman. It was the best thing that could have happened, quite frankly. I couldn't care less what the end result is as long as the journey is interesting."
- Chappell says the end of Otalia is "like coming down off a Red Bull" and that she's "devastated" by the loss of the character "and everything that came with her". She says that Otalia was "too short-lived", and she wishes it could have continued. She and Jessica Leccia are close friends and "will always have a wonderful connection".
- Otalia was "by far" Chappell's favorite story in her career. She wants Otalia to have a "good ending", and she wants the Otalia fans to know that she's "there till the end". She reassures fans that the story is not being redone because she's moving to Days; her start date on Days is based on when she'll finish taping GL.
