I've loved Beth since the 80s but I do think she could have chosen her words more carefully or just not said certain things at all.

If she were a smart lady, why did she jump at AMC and not seriously consider the other offers? It seemed clear she was going to AMC for RPG. That's the easiest thing to do, she doesn't have to move or anything. The only problem is, she's lost all her traction from being such a big star on GL. Now it'll be even harder to find a new gig. Y&R offered her the role of Patty Williams and it's now a huge, huge frontburner role. Even if she goes too crazy and is written off, at least she'd have a successful year/year and a half role to bounce off of for her next role. It's clear AMC never had plans for her and reuniting a supercouple on another soap almost never works. She also should've been worried when they made no attempts to connect her to ANY family.

The thing with Beth - I don't know how it all went down last year but I'm sure she is feeling a little pissed off. They wooed her from GL with the notion that she was to be the new Liza Colby Chandler, only to have those plans changed and then all of a sudden she's this new character, who ABC/AMC hopes will spark with RPG and it didn't happen. Then 10 months later, they hire an actress for the role of Liza and put her in a story with RPG. I'm sure she's a little pissed and to be quite honest I would be too. Again...Y&R Calls...Y&R Wants You...You Make the Move...Just ask Laura Wright (even though she's not on Y&R, rather GH, you make the move)

She's shown that she doesn't have chemistry with anyone on AMC and that's whats killed her. Plus she'd be even more jarring with classmates Jesse, Angie and Tad. AMC just wasn't the show for her. Whatever B&B offered her would've been better too. At least they pay well.

I'd also rather watch J.R. Martinez on AMC then Beth Ehlers, so if they can her I won't miss her all that much. Was she better on GL?

IMO, she was robbed of an Emmy for her work in 2004-2005.

I don't recall reading her bitching about Wheeler or the hacks writing THAT train wreck! Just the stuff about her being locked out of the studio after she decided to go to AMC! Maybe she DID bitch to the media about GL but I missed it! And is she wrong or am I about Chuck Pratt? Wasn't he co-headwriter at GH just before the AMC gig? I know he wrote a lot for primetime but I seem to remember him being in DAYTIME for years! She comes off sounding VERY full of herself and she could have been a little more diplomatic about Martinez! She's right in that he isn't an actor and they haven't used her very well but think about a co-worker's feelings before ranting about them not getting out of "second gear"! I remember years ago that she cried at cruel comments Mark Derwin fans wrote about her when she was involved with him! I guess she didn't learn anything from that!
