Married Away!

After months of playing yo-yo with Phyllis and Sharon, Nick has finally decided to stand by Phyllis after their daughter fell into a coma (thanks, Mary Jane!). However, now that Summer is home from the hospital and her condition is improving, will Nick honor his latest choice or run back to Sharon? This week, he makes his decision final.

Nick moves back into the tack house with Phyllis and Summer and he encourages Phyllis to go back to work. "Summer's slowly getting better, but the incident regressed her to a baby, so she has to relearn a bunch of things, like her alphabet and the names of her friends and family," sighs Joshua Morrow. "It's a day-to-day process. It's not going to happen overnight."

Needless to say, romance is the last things on Phyllis and Nick's minds. "Phyllis is all about her daughter," notes Stafford. "Her marriage has collapsed because her husband left her for somebody else and all that Phyllis has is Summer."

"Until the situation with Summer happened, he was never really forced to make a decision that was best for anybody other than himself," says Morrow. "Sharon forced him into it, but he realized that he needed to focus on Summer and Phyllis because they need him more. It's tough to admit, but I don't think his decision to be with Phyllis was prompted because of his love for her, which is a crappy position to be in if you're Phyllis. In Nick's heart, he knows he never should have left Sharon."

Meanwhile, Sharon is finding is hard to continue on with the lie that Jack is the father of her baby when it's actually Nick's child she's carrying. "I think she had second thoughts the moment the lie came out of her mouth," notes Sharon Case. "Now it's really weighing on her and she keeps rethinking it. But every time she does, she always comes back to her certainty that she made the right decision."

Sharon bumps into Phyllis at Crimson Lights and Phyllis is shaken when she sees a woman who looks like Mary Jane. Phyllis confronts her. (Hmm... sounds just like the audition script I posted a month ago!). Later, Phyllis and Sharon make small talk about Summer, but Phyllis makes it obvious that she and Summer are relying on Nick now.

Later, Phyllis and Nick grow closer when Summer asks to watch a DVD of their wedding. "They're watching the video together when Phyllis comes home," explains Morrow. "She wants to know what's going on and Nick is like, 'This is the sixth time we're watching it.' I guess it reminds Summer of happier times for her parents. She knew Nick had left, so it's comforting for her to watch."

"It's so cute," smiles Stafford. "She keeps watching the wedding video. It brings up a lot of happier memories for Nick and Phyllis. Phyllis isn't really buying into it; she's really doing this for her daughter. But at the same time, she's really love for her husband to be there for her. She would really like to have her family back."

Later, Nick and Phyllis talk about what he needs to do in order to prove he's in staying with his family for good. "She tells him that he can't keep bopping in and out of their lives," says Morrow. "She wants him to commit to them once and for all or walk away because he'll cause more harm than good by just being a half-ass dad. She wants him to be a man, make a decision and stick to it."

That's when Nick realizes how deep his feelings are for his wife. "He realizes how tough and amazing Phyllis is," Morrow shares. "She throws herself into everything she does. She's a great mother and she fights for what she loves and she doesn't give a damn what people think about that. It's another reminder of why he fell in love with her in the first place. In his heart, he knows he should have never left Sharon, but once that happens, he realizes he really was in love with Phyllis and he should've stayed with her. He started a new family with her and they were in a really good place."

Nick gets wrapped up in the moment and pulls Phyllis into a passionate kiss -- and then he asks her to marry him again. "The wedding video had them reminiscing about an amazing romance they had. He says, 'I'd be willing to do it all over again.' She says, 'Yeah, me too.' Then he gets down on his knee and gives her his makeshift ring and asks her to marry him again."

"She's shocked!" exclaims Stafford. "He's saying all these beautiful things and she's just got to believe it."

As Phyllis ponders whether or not to say yes, Sharon finds herself growing more and more frustrated with a hovering Jack. She finally snaps and reveals that the baby she's carrying isn't his. "Since Jack thinks he's the father of the baby, he keeps trying to get involved," Case sighs. "He's playing Mr. Dad and it's making this lie not work because he's getting so involved. She's not really mad at him, she's upset with the circumstances. That's putting pressure on her to tell the truth and she blurts out that Nick is the father. But she's glad about telling him the truth because now she can go ahead with her plan to raise her baby on her own."

But will Sharon be able to keep the truth from Nick -- and will it put a half to Nick and Phyllis's reunion?

I'm shocked that Jack is already learning the truth about Sharon's baby. What was even the point of having Sharon tell Jack that he was the father if she was just going to tell him the truth a few weeks later?

To get Sharon out of Nick's orbit for a while so that he could reconcile with Phyllis. Now that Phick are planning to get re-married, there's no need in Jack being fooled any longer. They're setting up for a big wedding day revelation, IMO.

Meh, who cares? Just more flip flip-flopping and two stupid women who can't see that Nick is a pathetic ass bitch that they should both get away from.

You know Nick and Phyllis's marriage will be on the rocks again or completely ends when Nick finds out Sharon is carrying his spawn.

These characters are all dumb and unsympathetic. I don't care anymore.

Thanks for the article, Kenny. :)

Thanks for the article.

I have to admit swooning a bit at the thought of Phick remembering their love story and Nick sinking to one knee to propose. This show could use a shot of romance, this could possibly be it. The writers have done such a horrible job of things lately, the show is so dark and depressing, let this couple work things out and be happy for a while. I did enjoy watching them smile and play and be in love previously, before everything went to hell. They were the one couple that felt real and I bought not only lusting each other, but truly loving one another. I wouldn't mind seeing a return to that...if Nick can be the kind of man Phyllis deserves. It's time for him to step up, like this article says. Be a man to your WOMAN.

Nick won't be a man though, they'll have him bounce back and forth every few months.

You know it will happen again when he learns Sharon's kid is his.

Both Sharon and Phyllis deserve so much better than this idiot.

Sharon already has a kid for Nick, Noah! I hope this last reunion (for lack of a better word) was to show how much GUILT and remorse Nick still feels for Cassie's death and the horrible way he treated Sharon after Cassie died.

The whole Cassie's said we would have another girl together so I belong with Sharon no matter what was so ridiclus and anyone could see both Nick and Sharon needs a not of grief couseling and therapy. I would love for Y&R to have the devastating effects of guilt and grief as their next PSA. It could help a lot of viewers.

Yeah, seems like a wedding day reveal to me...that is SO lame. I really thought Y&R was above that. And to actually GET to those circumstances - this ridiculous merry-go-round - is absolutely ridiculous.

Well Jack had already told Sharon that he wanted to help her raise the baby whether it was his or not so that's why I already figured that he wouldn't be mad when she finally came clean about him not being the father.

I am also surprised that Sharon tells Jack he's not the father, this soon. Although, I wouldn't be able to stand much more of Jack's obsessive behavior. He's pratically climbing down her throat to mach sure she chews enough not to choke! It's almost as bad as how the Winters' family is treating Lily. I don't understand how Nick's feelings subside so easily for Sharon. He was going to be just a good of father not being with Phylis until this Summer incident & now he's remarring her?!

I can tell you exactly how it will play out. Sharon will tell Jack then go to tell Nick. Nick will be in the middle of saying his vows. Sharon will be Saint Sharon and let the renewal take place because that is what Sharon does. Heard that Nick finds out the baby is his late fall so must be after the birth and the supposed baby switch.

I can not take another Phick union of sex, video games and rock and roll am too old for that crap. God forbid a solid marriage should be built on trust, mutual respect and love.
