This week's SOD features an interview with Austin Peck about his departure from ATWT.

Peck says that when he started at ATWT, "I didn't think in any way, shape or form that I was new." He says that he was "minding my P's and Q's and when they call action, in my opinion, it's all fair in love and war." He says some people had an issue with this, "because I didn't try to ease my way in there." He says there was "a little friction" with some people, but the cast and crew have been "phenomenal" towards him.

Peck says that he "loves playing Brad" and he hopes to play Brad "for years to come". SOD clarifies that Peck's contract does not expire till late fall, and the show is taping far ahead right now, so Peck won't be offscreen soon.

Thanks, Ellie!

I don't watch ATWT but I have always liked Austin Peck as an actor from his days at Days. It sucks about the friction part but sht happens. I wish him well and I'm sure he will find another job acting.

Sounds like an arrogant ass explanation for the shit he caused. Some actors are vary vain about their physical attractiveness, which only goes to prove, beauty is only skin deep(with some actors) I know the cast and crew are like family at ATWT.They try to make everyone feel like it,too.AP clearly was the one at fault for the dismissal

The article has two parts; one is about Austin Peck and one is about Lesli Kay. This is the Austin Peck part. It's a summary, but nothing significant was left out.

I seriously doubt he was let go because his acting was too good. He just comes off as a prick to me.

AP always comes across as being arrogant! He does love himself! He made some remarks about MP earlier when he first started on ATWT and it made me dislike him from the start. I did like him for a while, especially when he was in the storyline about Carly back when she was pretending to be so ill. I'm sure the cast and crew were phenomnal to him as I've always heard both sides are very close to each other but you can only screw with people so long before they turn.

From SOW:

Austin Peck (Brad), who joined ATWT in 2006 as a retooled, younger version of Jack's scheming brother, has been let go from the show. Brad will exit in a shocking manner and the role will not be recast. "No comment," says a rep for the soap.

I hate self-absorbed assholes. However, I can't comment on AP. I did like him on ATWT, but his departure isn't anything big.

This isn't even the first time "friction" has happened with him on a set. From what I heard, he really annoyed his castmembers at DAYS with her religious talk and what not, I really think that might of had something to do with the decision to write Austin/Carrie off back in 2006.
