I have to wonder if things would have been different if they haddnt had to write in all these contract negotiation exits in. I'm sure stories would have proceeded at a different pace, and maybe would have allowed more airtime to be used for other stories. There's alot I feel disapointed with lately. I'm disapointed the Phillip III story has been dropped, and that everyone forgave him overnight. I'm disapointed Jill's bottoming out has been so quickly and almost carelessly dropped and that she's back at Jabot. And I'm disapointed that the art story is over and this isnt the end of Deacon, and that at some point they're going to have to add Ryder's mother to the mix and further drag this out. I'd have gladly given up all the airtime wasted on it to Phillip or Jill. |

I think it was a total waste bringing Phillip back like they did. They had to rewrite history and all for nothing. Cane is a putz they shouldn't even have a story. What a bore. |

Ok come on the reveal was cool but he really does not have anything else to do . He is boring 97% of the time I have seen him. What is he gonna do? Help mold Chance? Please do not bring another charcter on that has llittle to do. if thast is the case they should give more line to the waiters and Atheltics club people since they already pay them and have them more involved. |

I'm sorry for the actor and all the fans who so wanted to see the stories they were promised. TB was never one of my favorite actors, but he is the face of Philip Chancellor. Seeing him reminds me of many good stories of the past and the linkage to the present held lots of promise. Several other actors have just disappeared-Rafe and Heather for instance. I have made my views about the destruction of Neil and the Winters clan well known. I have hated it. And I put it down to one thing-the introduction of the sleazy, useless character of Tyra. The family could recover but these writers seem to have no will to make it happen. I could go on and on but Y&R viewers know all too well what has happened on this show. MAB has misled the viewers and failed to live up the promise of bringing Y&R back from the mess LML left it in. But I feel I am having deja vu. Why? Hogan Sheffer. He concentrated on one or two characters while he was on DOOL. Stories began with promises and hope, only to fizzle soon afterward. He also failed many times to play all the beats of a story, so the fans could get the maximum enjoyment from it. I just smell a horrible duo is at work and failing miserably at Y&R. When the cost cutting, contract nightmares and media drama are added to all the other failures, it just leave this once great show a mess. Y&R still has some great actors, wonderful production values and a great history going for it. It is sad that for all it's woes Y&R is still one of the better daytime soaps around. |

All Y and R stories are plot driven so it doesn not surprise me when they bring people on for a plot or story they want to enhance..it was all about bringing Chance back to create a threesome for Billy and Chloe..I really wish they had left Phillip dead..I liked him that way.. |

This may not be popular opinion, but here it goes anyway. I watched Philip as a teen character, back in the day when I was glued to Y & R. I followed it from beginning to end. I'm sorry, but it was a HUGE pill to swallow, that he came back gay. I have nothing against a gay storyline, however, for any fan that "knew" the soap and character originally, this story fell flat from the word go. I know TB is gay, and he wanted to get it out there, but, sweetie, for viewers like myself? The two didn't mix anymore, if you know what I am saying. The fire, the flare of PC, was just gone. I could not buy the storyline as a veiwer. IMO, the story fell flat on its arse. It's my opinion the story truly wasn't being received well, because of the character they tried to turn gay, if that makes sense. It wasn't believable. |
