This week, both Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Weekly have articles about the Nick/Sharon/Adam story. The following writeup is a combined summary of both.

Y&R's Nick to Adam: "Stay away from Sharon!"

Nick is furious this week when he sees Adam cozying up to his ex, and he warns his brother to stay away from Sharon.

It all starts when Adam surprises Sharon with a visit on Halloween night. She invites him into her home and they have fun playing holiday games. Nick and Phyllis are taking Summer trick-or-treating, and when they arrive at Sharon's house, they find Adam helping Sharon pass out candy. Nick is furious, but he tries his best not to let anyone see it. When Nick asks what Adam is doing there, he cleverly dodges the question. Later, Nick walks into the living room and sees Adam having wine with Sharon in front of a roaring fireplace. Understandably, Nick is uncomfortable.

"Adam's not intending to get into any arguments with Nick," explains Michael Muhney. "First of all, it's a complete surprise when Nick shows up. But when he does, Adam is like, 'Okay, I was visiting Sharon and having a good time, but now that Nick's shown up and I see that he's squirming, I'm going to enjoy that too.' He has no problem enjoying himself on a genuine level, but if it just by default happens to upset Nick, well... then good." Muhney continues by saying that Nick has found quite a match in Adam. "It's like Tyson and Holyfield. Somebody's going to bite somebody's ear off."

Phyllis realizes that Nick is angry and quickly pulls him from the house. Once they're alone, Phyllis confronts him about how the sight of Adam with Sharon drives him up the wall. Nick tries to brush it off, but Phyllis wants him to open up and talk about it. In fact, she even goes so far as to suggest he should discuss his feelings with Sharon! "Time and time again, Phyllis has proven to be a woman of selfless acts," says Joshua Morrow. "Phyllis wants Nick to hurry up and work through whatever he needs with Sharon so they can move forward with their lives."

Nick visits Sharon and confronts her about her relationship with Adam. Explains Morrow, "Nick doesn't have a choice. He can't just let it go. If he doesn't tell Sharon point blank that Adam is evil, he wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Nick tends to worry about Sharon too much. He can't help it. He still has very strong feelings for this woman." As Nick warns Sharon to stay away from Adam, she reminds him that he's her ex-husband and he has no say in who she chooses to be friends with. Nick tells her that he understands she's a big girl who can make her own decisions, but if Adam hurts her, he'll be there for her.

As for Adam, Muhney explains "I think it's a surprise, even to him, that he's developed feelings for Sharon as a friend. It's kind of like the reverse of Stockholm syndrome, where the aggressor bonds with the prey. he almost wants to forget that he stole her baby. He wants to push that away because Sharon's the one person he feels he can be himself around."

Later in the week, Nick goes to see Adam. "Nick knows there's something more to this," insists Morrow. "Adam doesn't do anything without ulterior motives. The guy's a freakin' snake."

Rather bluntly, Nick tells Adam to stay away from Sharon. Adam fires back at him, telling Nick to focus on his marriage to Phyllis. Upset, Nick hits Adam with an unexpected twist.

"Nick tells Adam he's sending him on a business trip. Nick genuinely needs Adam to do this, but there's also an underhanded reason for it: to get him away from Sharon. Obviously, Nick can't send Adam away forever, and Sharon is ultimately gong to do what she wants to do. But this will give Sharon a breather. Nick's hoping she'll reassess things and realize a friendship with Adam isn't something she wants to pursue."

Morrow continues, "There's no way in hell Nick is just going to sit back and let Adam operate the way he does. Nick is going to do whatever he needs to do in order to keep Adam away from Sharon."

Blah. Not interested in a Adam and Sharon pairing or Nick being protective of Sharon against his brother. I would rater the writers finish the triangle that's already going and proves to be successful, that being Phyllis/Nick/Sharon.

Yeah, they need to wrap up the loose ends with that story. End it once and for all -- then move on with this Adam/Sharon/Nick "thing."

I'm sick of this whole Nick/Sharon/Phyllis thing. Why can't Nick die?

What he should be saying is that time and time again Phyllis is proven to be a woman that Nick can now walk all over anytime he damn well chooses. By the way Phyllis as a character has NEVER been selfless, she's always been selfish and I liked her that way. It's only with Nicky Poo that she becomes spineless and weak. MOVE ON ALREADY WOMAN!!

:blah: :blah: Whatever. The problem is that Nick is only happy when BOTH women are panting after him, once Sharon looks at someone else Nick always forgets he's still married. He needs to worry more about Phyllis and less about Sharon even though that will never happen.

I do admit though that I can't wait for Sharon to find out the truth about Adam, I hate that slimeball!!

Thanks Kenny :)

I don't think we are really going to get a triangle here. Sharon hearing Adam's mess and knowing what he did with the diary AND STILL sitting in front of a fire with him just proves she needs the warning Nick is trying to give her.

Thanks Kenny!!

But I threw up with Morrow's comments about St. Phyllis. Not only is Nick dumb, I guess it rubbed off on the actor.

Nick chose the Red Rash, now he can just leave Sharon alone.

I hate Adam but Sharon can take care of herself.

Put your hands up for Obama

Sharon's got dynamite between her thighs. The idiot just can't stay away. And Josh Morrow should stick to "acting" and less commentary. Nothing Phyllis has ever done has been selfless.

Lol! That's what happens when you don't even watch your own show - you've no clue about the character's history your talking about! Poor Josh - he came off looking really stunted with that comment. Phyllis selfless? LMOL! Oh, poor, poor Josh. Let's hope Nick really isn't rubbing off on him.

Phyllis has become Nick's doormat, is what he should say (are there really men this dense? Seriously??), but of course he wouldn't see it that way. He can do whatever he wants, have an emotional affair with this ex, sleep with her multiple times, get her pregnant with the baby girl he's always wanted AND Phyllis is still stroking his massive ego and kowtowing to his feelings for Sharon. Lol - yup, what every man dreams of - a doormat and sexual play toy.

Nick can't stop thinking about Sharon because he's still in love with her and that will never, ever be over. Phick was doomed before they started because what they have isn't a real marriage. They're together because of Summer and it's proving ever more pathetic that Phyllis is still deluding herself into thinking she has Nick's heart. She and Summer will always come behind Sharon. Phick's entire marriage proves that and, here we go again with Nick obsessing over Sharon again because of Adam now. I think it's time to put Phick out to pasture...they're done.

Nick appears to be in "brother" mode, since we are NOT seeing any romantic beats between Nick and his ex-mistress/ex-wife, it is obvious that he is being protective of her like he would Sharon. Poor Sharon knows what Adam is capable of, she is just lonely and is working on a new bed warmer!

The only one that Nick is IN love with is his wife, Phyllis, and she and Summer are the ones that Nick wants to be proud of him, which will be evident on today's show.

^^

Nick is in love with Phyllis. Ha! That's exactly why he sent Adam on a business trip to keep him away from Sharon - because he loves Phyllis.

^^Phyllis is the only one Nick has said "I love You" to, Sharon is the consumate Damsel in distress and Nick knows it, she does not know how to take care of herself and depends on the men in her life to walk ahead of her clearing the path for her...which is what Nick is doing right now, he is being her friend, sorta like a big brother. Like I said, there are NO romantic beats between Nick and Sharon, JM looks like he is "phoning in" his scenes with SC, looking at the floor and basically just reciting his lines, at least on the show I am watching.

Nick was not so long ago telling Sharon "I love you" and not apologizing for wanting to be with the love of his life, but that's really here nor there....

I love that these two are all kinda "bumped" up over Sharon! Nick, yet again, telling Sharon he will be there for her! Wow, she made me proud standing up to Nick! All the while Phyllis just takes the crap, LOL.....making excuses for Nick wanting to talk to Sharon!

I love that this "triangle" has "flipped".....it's now Adam/Sharon/Nick, and Phyllis watching from afar....LOL :cheer:

It's awesome!

syPhyllis stands there chewing on a fingernail, because she can't seem to figure out why her hubby won't stop obsessing over Sharon. Even Adam knows how pathetic she is, as he offers suggestions on how to make her marriage more concrete. The writers have turned her into a babbling, begging, whining 16-year old. It's super sad for Michelle Stafford. I can't understand why she tolerates it.
