Entertainment reporter Nelson Aspen was our guest this week. He offered a lot of historical soap insights, especially on Search for Tomorrow (Mary Stuart was his mentor and close friend). I didn't realize Jennifer Aniston had lost out on the part of TR to Search to Jane Krakowski. He was also one of the writer's assistants at Another World during the 1988 writer's strike and shared some stories about that as well. We cover classic and current and indie. In the latest "Soaps on the Street" segment, we asked New Yorkers if they would watch GH for James Franco.

I really enjoyed the Nelson Aspen interview. Even though I’m not familiar with some of the soaps and soap actors they were discussing, I found their discussion interesting. Nelson, Roger and Damon are very likeable. I am going to buy the book.

Nelson's book is full of celebrity stories. Of course my favorite chapter is the one dedicated to Mary Stuart. Speaking of books, Mary wrote a book about 30 years ago that is a good read as well. :)
