Please link to DR. This week's SOD features an interview with Bryan Dattilo where he discusses his return to Days. - Dattilo says he hadn't known how long he'd be offscreen. "They just told me they were going to give me a little break for a while, so I didn't know exactly what that meant." He laughs and says it sort of feels like he's still on a break, "because I have no storyline." - He says he keeps running into fans who ask why Lucas isn't on the show. He tells them he's not sure. But Dattilo says, "It's all good. It's a great opportunity for other people on the show who have just joined to run with the ball a little bit. The whole Passions crew that's here, I think they're doing a great job. They're totally deserving of the storyline they have." He says he's a "team player" and he's fine with taking a break so that other cast members can "shine". "And as long as James Scott is working five days a week, I am happy." - In terms of storyline, Lucas finds out that the baby switch got started because Chloe told Nicole that Sami was pregnant with EJ's baby. Since Lucas was the one who told Chloe that piece of information, "he's annoyed with himself for trusting people." Lucas has a scene with Maggie where he wonders why he keeps making mistakes like this. Dattilo says he's trying to play Lucas as a stronger and more composed person, "more intense and more affected by things." - Dattilo says that regarding Lucas's future, "I will probably work once a month and I am periodically in story." |

As long as JS is working 5 days a week he's happy, ROFLMAO. Seriously, that's really all that matters, isn't it. HA! I love Bryan. Sucks that they don't have a story for him yet, but I am so glad that he is back and will be involved in other stories that are playing out ... I'm hopeful that they will have a good story for him soon. |

Sounds like BD is around as family filler for the holidays. He'll probably get some play in Maggie's storyline in the new year. Other than that it sounds like Days doesn't know what to do with him. I like BD and think he's a good guy but Days should cut him loose if they don't have any story for him. |

When they brought GG in that killed any chance of having BD in a storyline. At least when he was part of the EJ/Sami/Lucas triangle he had a chance. I knew it, I just knew it....Even though I am not a Lucas fan, he is a far better actor than GG ever was.... |

You are absolutely right! I have never been a Lumi fan (in the romantic sense) but did like them as frenemies.....they played very well together, in that sense. BD is a better actor than GG for sure! Oh, and I love your banner, I've just recently got on the Liz/Nikolas train!! |

Once a month and periodically in story? I take it he's now on recurring and not contract then? I still don't get why this show gave Lucas a new house when they had no intention of writing for him. |

Agreed! I loved the EJ/Lucas dynamic - they played off each other very well. It sounds like BD is getting screwed over again which sucks. I'm no Lumi fan, but I really enjoy Lucas and BD has worked his ass off for that show for a long long time. It sucks he's been replaced by a newbie (GG). I know BD is a sarcastic bastard (which I love) but this comes across as a bit bitter. Not that I blame him. [Although I'm quite happy with 5 days a week of James Scott! I'd take four if it meant we got Lucas back onscreen in a meaningful way. ;) Will TPTB EVER learn balance? HELLO Ari Zucker at 190+ episodes for the year!] On a side note, my sister is here for the holidays and I was watching Days and an Rafe/Sami scene came on and first words out of her mouth were "Did they try to find someone for Sami that looked just like Lucas? Why not just keep him?" :lol: |

I totally get his sarcasm! I don't often post here. I mainly lurk. But give Bryan a better sl, he deserves it. Looks liek I only watch Days when Bryan is on. No Dattilo, No Days! That's just how I feel and its my right to do so. Sorry, just blowing off steam. Not directed at anybody but Tptb! |

It really sounds like BD is on his way out. No story, rarely filming...are they gradually easing him out the door and hoping we'll just forget about him? I'm not a fan of Lucas, but Bryan Datillo has been around a lot of years and this isn't fair to him. Give him a story or let him go so he can try to find work somewhere else. Love the sarcasm, especially about the Passions crew! |
