Now that Sydney is home I'm dreaming sweet EJami dreams...

i actually thought the comment about the passions crew 'deserving' their screen time was very sarcastic. i think we've all seen the jokes about bringing on three major characters from a soap opera that failed on two different networks. and for the record, i don't think datillo was blaming james or galen for his reduced screentime, i think he was making a jab at TPTB for giving these guys so much airtime and cutting him back to taping once a month. and like i said before, i really don't blame him, especially if he feels about rafe/galen the way a lot of us do. my only concern for bryan is that things might be a bit tense for him on set if the actors hear about his comments, as it's fairly clear that he's unhappy, but then again, this isn't the first time bryan's made comments like these. i actually don't mind. much as i love james and respect alison, their constant peppy spinning of everything they do gets old.
Well James did basically say the fact that they were writing Sami and EJ to be fighting over custody for Sydney was stupid in last week's SOW interview - so I wouldn't say he always sticks with the party line. But I do agree that I find it refreshing when actors speak openly and honestly about what they think - be it their story, their screen time, the writing, etc.

Well, when ole Rafe started playing pretend Daddy to Lucas's kids,I know Lucas was being backburned'Now keep in mind,I HATE Lucas..have since the day he showed up,what 16 years ago,, but blaming JS for his troubles is silly and petty,he needs to blame GT and GG..GT has given his buddy, GG HIS role

Now,,let me say now, that BD acts ffing CIRCLES around GG..its not even a contest.I watch GG and I laugh my ass, off,,not to mention EJ's scenes with Lucas were great..cause BD was up to it..JS,eats GG's ass alive

EJ originally came on as a shady and mysterious guy but actual friend and potential suitor of Sami's and was turned into a BSC psycho rapist for no other reason by the show than to try and make Lucas and Sami work.
That is not true. EJ turned into a "BSC psycho rapist" because Hogan wanted a new generation of villains. He said Stefano and Victor were too old and that EJ and Philip were the new villains.

Why do fanbases always rewrite history to suit their own agendas? It got old a long time ago.
Actually, wasn't EJ's first deed of villainy being the Black Glove? This was still back when Mimi and Bell had in vitro the buddy system way.

What bothers me is trying to shove potential "mates" for Lucas as justification for him being around. We already have people not crazy about Philip's not having someone he "clicks" with (well, at least on some boards, they want Philip around people his own age). It has to make sense and not match someone up for the sake of matching someone up. BD was never known to curb his tongue too much. Yeah, he's bitter. Should he have been so forthright? Maybe not. But really, I can understand his feelings about basically getting shoved aside. I don't know what machinations are going on that keep TPTB playing games with him. But, as we found out with the DH's, longevity on the show doesn't mean squat. And I like BD. Quit playing games with the man. Scheiße or get off the pot with him, big guys. Quit dangling the carrot around him. If you're going to cut him loose, cut him loose and give him a chance to get on with his life.

Seems like show is trying to kill Lumi vs. Ejami by shoving Lucus aside for a bit.
They've just replaced Lumi with Safe.

And there was absolutely no need for it or for Lucas to be replaced by Rafe.

BD is definitly a better actor than GG.

The reason Lumi never worked (for me) is that Lucas never wanted Sami first and foremost - she was always the back up plan. And now that Carrie is off the canvas and they've moved Sami into potential Marlena-hood they seem to feel they have no where left to go with Lucas. I can understand BD being bitter about that - but James Scott isn't the guy that replaced him. He was on front and center for more than a year acting opposite JS and Alison Sweeney. Now who will be doing that? The role of Lucas has been replaced by the character of Rafe as played by Galen Gerring.
Then you could say the same thing about Sami never wanting Lucas first and foremost since they didn't start to have feelings for each other until Sami's accident after Brandon left. And before that Sami was together with Austin and Franco.
I've always thought of Sami and Lucas as BFF's who made a deal that if they weren't married by forty, they'd marry each other.

I hate that Lucas may be written off. Even if he isn't with Sami romantically he truly is her BFF.

I doubt they'll write Lucas off. If they want to keep Alison Sweeney happy (and I have no doubt that they do), they'll keep him on. They'll just keep Lucas in storyline limbo.

Ali has said many times that she is a Lumi fan. If they really just wanted to make her happy they would write for Lumi, so I don't think Bryan staying or not staying has much to do with her.

I'm sure another lady will enter his life now for a short-term.

Why doesn't he just quit the show then if he's being treated so badly?

I just can't stand Lucas. He has always been such a whiny momma's boy. What good woman would want him?

And so professional of BD to blame the Passions crew or JS for his lack of story. What a jackass. Last time I checked, NONE of them write for Days.

BD should take his petty jealously elsewhere. There are a lot of other actors WAY better than him no longer on this show, not even for just a couple of episodes a month. I'd much rather see John/Marlena, Steve/Kayla every now and then more than HIM.

Here here! Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth can act circles around pretty much the whole current cast and they were let go without a second thought. What is BD still even doing there??? He always mouths off and maybe his fans think it's funny but I think it's rude and obnoxious and shows how ungrateful he is for the opportunities he's been given over the last 15 years when, quite frankly, there are a million more ready to take his place.

What are the passions crew doing there? It's quite obvious because the network or exec. producer think they have fanbases and can bring up the ratings. Will they? Are they? Who knows? The network/exec. producer will decide that based on all their testing.

James Scott is one of the few obvious bright spots on the show. He has a huge fanbase as evidenced by how many people go to the soap events he's at just to see him. He's won Soap Adonis three years in a row. So he better be working five days a week or what hope does the show have?? They were nearly canceled last year and lost all their big names aside from Bope in order to buy the show another year. Yet ratings have IMPROVED. So while I can't stand the show and don't watch anymore, TPTB must be doing something right so who is BD to question that??

Would YOU quit a show that keeps dangling job opportunities and promises at you in this economy, especially being an actor? It's not as if the market is easy, ya know. BD has an autistic child. It's not as if he's going to go out of a limb unless he's forced.

Says a member of the JS fanbase. BD does have a fanbase, too, and has for years. MAYBE it's not as big or MAYBE it's not loud, but he has one. (And I don't consider myself a member of that fanbase, but I will defend them. They have as much right to love BD as you do JS, and neither is right nor wrong).
And as for him being rude and obnoxious? Do you folks actually think he's the only rude and obnoxious person in Glittertown?

He should think about his autistic child he's supporting before he mouths off. It's a choice to mouth off. I am sure he has friends and family he can blow off steam too. Why he has to do it to a soap columnist is anyone's guess. I know he has fans and that is obviously why he is still around. But MBE and SN, the DHs, etc... all have fans too and they aren't even on a few days a month anymore. He shouldn't resign if he thinks he's being screwed over and can do better. He's been in the business long enough to know that most promises never come to fruition. The business is fickle and it doesn't care how long you've been waiting on the sidelines for your time to shine. It's not about how long you've waited or dedicated yourself to a show.

I am a James Scott fan but I have never liked BD or the Lucas character in all the years he's been on the show. I have been a Days follower for nearly 25 years now and remember when BD joined the show. So my being a JS fan has NOTHING to do with my feelings about BD or Lucas. Those have never changed since day 1.

I'm an Ej/Ejami fan who happens to agree with him especially when it comes to the Passions Crew.

If DAYS is so broke that they had to fire vets and only keep a handful of sets then what's the point of hiring characters (which is who they are with different names) from a cancelled soap?
