Royal Reporter Posts: 8,227 Group: Staff Member #42 Joined: June 14, 2007	A confrontation with Vivian drives Phillip to drink and he lands in Melanie's arms. Things start with Phillip approaching Stephanie about splitting up Melanie and Nathan. Phillip suggest they work together to speed up the inevitable, because Nathan and Melanie will never work. That way he can be with Melanie and Stephanie with Nathan. He almost talks her into it, but at the last second she says no. Phillip isn't worried, he'll get Melanie somehow; it's meant to be. Phillip heads home to find Vivian. He doesn't understand why she would come back after so much time has gone by. Vivian is thrilled to see him, but he's wondering what her angle is. She's hamming it up to bother Kate and make her jealous. Vivian calls Phillip her son and says if he ever needs anything to call her. Phillip asks to speak to Vivian alone. JKJ says the conversation is funny. "I had a good time with that scene. Phililp kind of puts Vivian in her place. He's like, 'Listen, Mamacita, you are not my mother. You never were and you never will be.' He tells Vivian to stay out of his life." Vivian keeps saying that she's his mother. She carried him and gave birth to him. On working with Louise, JKJ says "Any time I get a chance to work with Louise, John Aniston, Lauren Koslow, and Joe Mascolo, I really look forward to it. They keep me on my toes. Louise is a tremendous talent. I feel blessed and honored to be able to work with her." Phillip heads to the Cheatin' Heart for a drink after talking to Vivian and runs into Melanie. He tells Melanie what is going on, that he's got his mom and now his surrogate mother is here. Phillip is dealing with a lot of stuff and having Vivian come along is the last thing he needs. It leads to a near kiss between Phillip and Melanie when Nathan walks in. Nathan isn't happy and Phillip tries to cover by saying he had something in his eye. Melanie owns up to the truth and breaks up with Nathan. JKJ says Phillip is happy. "Phillip has been thinking about this girl for a long time. She accepts him for who he is. He accepts her for who she is. Phillip is ready to make a go of this." After Phillip declares his love, Melanie insists it's too soon. Phillip says he will be patient; he knows she'll come around. Later, Nathan warns Phillip that he'll pay if he hurts Melanie. JKJ says "Phillip doesn't care. He thinks of Nathan as a young kid and he treats him as such. Nathan's threats don't scare Phillip. He's like, 'Good luck with that.' Phillip wants a shot with Melanie, and he's ready to make a go of it.

I hope that his rejecting Vivian doesn't mean he's taken back Kate though. One thing that has me concerned about how this triangle will work is not that I have a problem with the chem the boys and girls have with each other, but at this point I can't buy Nathan as threatening in any sort of way to Phil.

And Philip and Melanie are alike in many ways. A bad boy and a bad girl juicy combination! Phelanie fan here!

God I am SO excited for DAYS lately and I haven't felt that way in YEARS, probably during SSK. Honestly though, I'm more glued now than I was then. They're firing on all cylinders. I'm really looking forward to seeing Vivian's relationship with Philip- I think it will be interesting the way this plays out. I LOVE that Vivian is fitting so seamlessly into this canvas- now then next person I want her to share scenes with is Sami! Ali & Louise always had a fun rapport with one another.

It was really nice of Jay to say how much he enjoys working with Louise et al and I think he does love working with the older actors in adult storylines. Would that they would get him out of this ridiculous quad. Thanks for posting!

I agree that it's only an initial reaction and that things will heat up. My guess is that when Viv sees how much Kate disapproves of Melanie (remember that scene in the hospital when Kate called her a "tart") that Viv will come to Melanie's defense and become Phillip's biggest ally and even become Mel's new BFF in order to win Phillip over. This will mean that Viv is unwittingly becoming closer to Carly's daughter (if the spoilers are to be believed) than Carly. Such bonding would drive both Kate and Carly to distraction with Phillip and Melanie caught in the middle. It makes for the perfect tangled soap opera mess.

It is too bad that they keep sticking him in with teenagers instead of letting him work with the adults - which is where he's always done some of his best work. WTF does that make Melanie, who is YOUNGER than Nathan? I wish he'd think of Melanie as a young kid and treat her as such - like staying the hell away from her.
