It would be more fun to see him turn to her and watch Kate get uberpissed. Even though this is Philip's initial reaction, I think this is where the story is headed. She'll worm her way into Philip's life, and Kate will be very unhappy. Can't wait! I agree. It's a natural first reaction but I do think he will gravitate toward Vivian. This sounds great! I totally agree with this. Philip's initial reaction is predictable and sets up things for the horror Kate will feel as she sees Vivian making inroads with "her" son. Juicy stuff will be coming down the pike. Mary, I agree about Nathan being absolutely no threat to Philip. But, the one thing Nathan has is his innate goodness, which Melanie admires. (Mainly because JKJ is from my neck of the woods :D The dimples help), but I feel ever since they let Belle off with Shawn, Philip's character has been foundering. I can't wait to see JKJ hold his own with Louise Sorel. When JKJ is with top-notch actors, Philip is so much more enjoyable. Hanging around Stephanie, Melanie, et al....he's too much like the guy who graduates from high school and keeps returning to the high school dances to grab a girl instead of playing with his own league. I also don't give a flying fig how mature Melanie is/is not (and from what I've seen I wouldn't really make her the poster girl for maturity). IMO it is ridiculous that a man with Philip's background and current lifestyle would give someone like Melanie the time of day let alone spend all his free time doing nothing but pursuing her. I understand that if someone likes a couple and/or their chemistry they're willing to forgive just about anything, but if you don't like it the reverse is true - you're willing to forgive hardly anything. I honestly don't care one way or the other about Melanie, but I do care a great deal about Philip and that they've turned him into that Matthew McConaughey character from "Dazed and Confused" where the thing he likes best about high school girls is that even though he keeps getting older, they stay the same age. I hate watching Philip run after high school/college girls. Philip deserves better than to be a once-a-week prop that shows up to be an obstacle for Mate. When I was referencing the adults, I meant Victor, Vivian, Kate, et al. Jay shines in those scenes - you can tell how much he loves working opposite the vets.

Gads. I think Molly Burnett is one of the top actors on DAYS and see absolutely no reason why he can't work with the adults which includes Molly Burnett. When I think of High School Phil I think of Chloe and Melanie never enters my mind.

When I think of High School Phil I think of Chloe and Melanie never enters my mind. You say tomato, I say tomahto. Melanie reminds me too much of the high school kids I work with who think "OK, charm. Turn on NOW! Big grin! I'm adorable!"

I don't think Viv will take the place of Kate but just watching them become closer will make Kate green with envy. :frustration: I think we'll have some hilarious scenes coming up in the future. :laugh: I, for one love the eccentric Vivian and her weird taste in clothes. As far as who Phillip ends up with...I just don't want to see it being manipulating Stephanie. :hmmph:
