It is a normal reaction for some people who are stressed or grieving to have sex. It relieves the tension and stress. Totally appropriate to the circumstances.
ita i guess many on this board has not been in personal crisis and turned to the man or woman they love for intimacy & or sex
if this was ejami it would be perfectly normal or any one other than safe
It may be "normal for SOME people" but it's not what I want to watch when I turn on my tv. I like it to be more romantic in nature myself. And for the record, I've been thru my fair share of stress and grief recently along with my spouse and sex wasn't big on the agenda. I know that I'm only speaking for myself, but when you've been thru something, and you see something like this that seems so inappropriate, you just have to say something. And yes I'm an Ejami, but trust me, my disgust with this has NOTHING to do with who's doing it. See this is the difference in people, my hubby and I are very happily married and over the years our best coping mechanism during a crisis or after a death of a loved one is sex. So to me, seeing that would reflect a close, loving relationship. Just the difference in people. I will be interested in seeing how the writers handle it myself. After a car accident a doctor handed me a drink of water, I asked him why people do that in a crisis, he said because when everything feels not normal the best thing to make someone feel better is to do something normal, something they can just do and feel like everything will be ok again because it is comfortable to them, it is familiar.

I think the new character is Emily. I bet the flashbacks are of how she came to her "untimely" demise. Maybe she thinks Sydney is Safe's? That would mos def be a huge twist. It also would bring more DRAMA to EJAMI SAFE s/l. JMHO

Have this rumor about a new character appeared in any other place? I also heard about it, but that was a while ago, so I dont know whether it would be a "new character" that kidnapped Sydney?

It's not just that it's Sami and Rafe (although their constant humpfests right in front of a napping Grace right before she died also squicked me out). Grief sex may be somewhat realistic, but it's not the sort of love in the afternoon that I tune in to soaps for. Similarly, I was grossed out when Sonny and Carly's way of dealing with their son being shot was humping in the back of a car. I hate seeing Days going down the road of GH here.

Half the people posting their disdain for this Safe sex scene aren't even Ejami fans. Some are Lumi fans, some aren't fans of Sami at all, some aren't fans of Rafe at all. It's not just EJ and Sami fans who take issue with this Safe sex scene. I wouldn't think it appropriate if they had EJ and Sami having sex while their kid was missing either. These posts about Safe sex are funny. Rafe and Sami are in a loving relationship and have had sex tons of times already so it is natural for them - now if they were making love the the first time I could understand people saying is this the time to be doing this?
I agree with it not being appropriate for EJ and Sami to have sex because he is still married to Nicole last time I checked and he and Sami can barely be civil to each other...he's using every opportunity to touch Sami and it's so funny watching Roman and Rafe eye him doing it.
GG and AS talked about all the EJ touching it in their interview with Michael Fairman and AS said most of that isn't in the script but JS does some of it to wind up GG. and GG said he loves doing those scenes with JS and AS.
Now if we can just get the viewers to have as much fun as the cast is having..... :tounge:

The poster who originated the rumor sometimes posts here at DR, but I haven't seen Rakesh around for a while. I wish we could get an update on that.

At the end of that scene, JS ad libbed a kiss on Sami's cheek to get a rise out of GG who was a few feet away. That doesn't mean everytime there's physical contact between EJ and SAmi, it's ad libbed and really about JS and GG (sorry Ejafe fans!).
The Safe sex is just gross. That might be realistic but that's not why I watch soaps. And I'd feel that way no matter who was having sex--even if it was my beloved EJami. Hugging, comforting--good. Doing the nasty--nasty. I don't get why they're going there.

Maybe Mickey is the new kidnapper. Maggie has a story coming up...and they've been showing his picture and Spoiler: click to toggle in tomorrow's show he's out of town and his plane is delayed. Maybe he's in Cleveland, and decided to take a bus. They can't show a former actor's picture without permission, can they? They had to call ED to get permission to show Susan...I mean, what a way to bring a character back. I'm mostly joking, but think about it...

I think it's the kidnapper too but, like Kenny, I do think this will be someone we will recognize. Maybe it's a new actor coming on as a recast of a past character or maybe it's the same actor playing a new character (Wes Ramsey maybe?). Or maybe the actual kidnapper is someone we know but they are working for a new character. So many possibilities. I love it and you can tell the show really is keeping a tight lid on spoilers because they are getting much less detailed and a bit more scarce. I think it also helps too, like Drew said, that the show has been dark recently. They were wise to do something like that right now when they have the best chance to keep secrets like this.
As for Sami and Rafe, it depends on how it plays. To me, that is what makes it an issue or not. The spoilers sound great though.
I think the Wes Ramsey idea is a good quess. If nathan/Steph become serious they will need some kind of conflict. Or maybe he could be paired with Chloe after/if her relationship with Daniel deteroriate when his past with Carly and his fatherhood is revealed. I totally love the idea of Chloe having to deal with Danielīs daughter who is dating/ is involved with her high school sweetheart. I like the idea of it being Wes in a new role and throwing him in with Chloe. I, too, like the idea of Daniel's daughter (Melanie) getting it on with Philip (Chloe's ex-lover). That is so soapy LOL.
I also think Emily is a fine guess. Or what if Meredith broke out and took her for some reason. There is really alot of possibilities here. I don't see how it could be Mickey though. That makes no sense LOL. Not only is their no reason for it but they would be destroying the character of Mickey. I'm 100% certain it won't be LOL.

I did watch it a couple of weeks ago. It was a fun interview - especially since so much of it was spent talking about James and EJ. ;) But I didn't notice GG talking about JS touching Ali that I recall...it was about the scene that Kali mentioned.
However, what I loved about that scene is that even though it was ad-libbed - TPTB left it in and aired it for a reason. It seems to me they must have very much enjoyed AS's reaction to the kiss and thought it fit where the story is headed. Pretty brilliant on the part of JS if you ask me.

If someone were taking her to give her back, I don't think it would go on as long as it appears to be go on. The person would return her or let Sami and EJ know they have her.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
I like the idea of it being Wes in a new role and throwing him in with Chloe. I, too, like the idea of Daniel's daughter (Melanie) getting it on with Philip (Chloe's ex-lover). That is so soapy LOL. I also think Emily is a fine guess. Or what if Meredith broke out and took her for some reason. There is really alot of possibilities here. I don't see how it could be Mickey though. That makes no sense LOL. Not only is their no reason for it but they would be destroying the character of Mickey. I'm 100% certain it won't be LOL.
LOL. I said I was mostly kidding. But the kidnapper may have been trying to get the baby back, not take her further away.
Oh, I figured you were kidding but you never know who may it seriously LOL. If someone were taking her to give her back, I don't think it would go on as long as it appears to be go on. The person would return her or let Sami and EJ know they have her. Enter the freak accident that takes us into the New Year and kills off Mickey, lol. No, I think it's probably Dr. Baker or Owenish type person, but with the Mickey mentions starting to happen now it just caught my attention.
And for real...don't they have to get clearance from an actor to use their pictures?

I think it's the kidnapper too but, like Kenny, I do think this will be someone we will recognize. Maybe it's a new actor coming on as a recast of a past character or maybe it's the same actor playing a new character (Wes Ramsey maybe?). I will be so pissed if the kidnapper is Wes Ramsey's character. Zzzzz...

I do remember seeing the same picture from tomorrow's episode a few weeks ago in a trivia segment with Suzanne Rogers. It was on the table in back of her.
