I also agree that no couple is beyond triangles when the triangle is written correctly. As long as all three angles of the triangle are still acting in character, and no one is being trashed for another person, then the triangle can be a success. Unfortunately, it comes down to lazy writing when writers decide to just villainize one character to praise the "money couple" or the outcome couple. Absolutely.
I agree they've come close to that on Hope but I never feel that they hit that mark with her, at least IMO. I do agree that they've toned her down a bit of late though.
I agree with you on the camera angles during the Stefano/Sami scenes too. Ali and Joe were great and the camera shots added alot to the scene.
JS is a mess this week though. He was great outside while listening in and saying nothing. You could see tears in his eyes and his pain was obvious. That, to me, continued to prove to me that he must be behind this (that could just be my wanting him to be so bad though). Nonetheless, he was great in that scene but horrible the rest of the time. He was just as bad in that scene with Ali Sweeney at the end of today as he was in the scenes with her on Friday and Monday.
I also agree it was nice that Brady didn't give in and see Nicole. He's been too much of a doormat.

Am I the only one who thinks that there's something strange going on in Salem when Stefano DiMera is the voice of sanity, reason, and logic? I like that they did that though. It's appropriate since he's been the one consistent person in Salem whose always been one step ahead of everyone LOL.

I think people are wrong to think they won't let Bo and Carly rekindle, even if temporarily. If tptb are smart they will not dead end Bo and Hope the way they did John and Marlena, or Steve and Kayla. Reading the interview with Dee Hall in TV Guide Canada she talked about how she had hoped they would have kept WN's Dr North on and in a triange with John and Marlena. Sadly the supercouple fans would not have any of it. Same deal with Steve and Kayla. Throwing Ava in the mix had great possibilities. Keeping a triangle going for a long time, keeps veteran actors on top of their game, interested and the fans watching. I believe "end games" are a losing proposition for a genre known as "continuing drama." It cannot continue if there is an end game.
Totally agree. I'm down for Bo and Carly, but I just don't want a Billie 2.0 situation. If they can invest in this story, and really have Bo and Hope move on - even if for a couple years - I could get behind it. Y&R did a great job of breaking up Victor and Nikki, to the point I never wanted them back together, but then they ruined it by reuniting them for the 2028423 time! Looking back, yeah, Ava was great in the Steve/Kayla mix. I thought Steve and Ava had really strong chemistry, but they threw that under the bus for the sake of Payla...who were MIA for fucking 16 years! And I'm still on the Hope and Steve train - they had some hot chemistry in the smooching scene. IMO, that would have been a great story - fucking with two supercouples at once! Awesome, LOL! I hate to rant, but I just really don't understand the Steve and Kayla thing. I don't think they gained any new fans during the second round, and it's telling they were let go within 2 years. He's cool and she's so homely...they seemed very, very mismatched to me. So for this reasoning alone, I hope they aren't scared to tread into some new territory with Bope. If it's great story, I'll watch!
They're not my favorites, but I don't think it's telling at all. They weren't written for. If they had been written for, I think things would have been a lot different. It's hard to gain fans (and there's no way to know if they did or not) when you have no story. I don't look at it that way. I think they didn't write for them because they didn't know what to write for them. Giving them a baby was such a cop out. I just feel like the 16 year gap wasn't properly addressed. Seriously, it was like: OMG! You're alive?! No memory - gotta get that memory back. Yeah, you remember? Let's get married...again!
The writing for Payla was solely for the fans of 20 years ago, and nothing more. I can tell you from my age group, they weren't really well received...and even looking online too, the fans were all old school. I'm quite sure they didn't pick up any new fans (at least in big numbers).

I thought Both Monday and Tuesday's shows were dull. It was creepy seeing Stefano rip open Sami's shirt...icky.

Tuesday's show was great. The writing for Stefano has been top notch lately and it's great seeing Stefano on the frontburner where he belongs. I absolutely loved the Sami and Stefano scenes. The dialog was fantastic. Also loved Stefano calling EJ- Judas. Also I really enjoyed Vivian and Hope's scenes. I'm very happy with Vivian's return. It seems like they are finally starting to move her more to the forefront. Oh and Carly has looked gorgeous the past few days. I enjoyed her scenes with Daniel and Justin..

Am I the only one who thinks that there's something strange going on in Salem when Stefano DiMera is the voice of sanity, reason, and logic? I love it! Its been a long time since I rooted for Stefano, and this week he was wonderful. And PR, I agree with you on JS when he was standing outside listening in. First, he looked good, reminded me of black glove a little bit, and when he got tears in his eyes...good job. The rest of it sucked. And how he was able to walk in and act like a smug son of a bitch after STefano said all of those things was sad. I truly hope he is behind all of this too!

Some middle aged guy who looked like he was trying to recapture his youth (which could've made sense, considering his past, if it'd been explored), with a woman who was simply the most boring, sickly sweet character I'd ever seen. It was painful to watch. Maybe those characters were really awesome in the 80s, but they were dying for an update, and they didn't get it.

It was painful to watch. Maybe those characters were really awesome in the 80s, but they were dying for an update, and they didn't get it. Cassie, we might be from the same age group because while I remember Patch and Kayla, I didn't remember anything about them or their great romance. It was nice to see them but good gosh, they were so cheesy with Patch's "dude" and old man dancing. I guess "they had to get the writers to address Steve being in bed with Ava" but I thought it was stupid. I remembered thinking that didn't Kayla realize Steve was drugged or was pretending to save Hope's life? and NOW she's getting all bent out of shape over it, it made her look weak and insecure. Then the actors themselves didn't do any favors during the purple haze/lockdown scenes where MBE gave the most horriblest of performances freaking out over their missing baby. IMO, it was a good move to cut these two, they can always bring them back later.
And talk about pining away for someone, never to have another romance...poor Pilar/Passions was practically in mourning the whole time and the poor woman had her presumed dead husband come back only to have him run out on her for THE lamest of reasons and all the while was enjoying the company of another woman. I felt really sorry for Pilar but it was nice to see her Bitch unleashed.

There's a Skanks on a Plane reference in today's episode?
Why on earth would they have that? Is anyone left from that story besides Stephanie?

I loved Philip's reference to buried alive LOL. Loving Vivian/Victor/Kate. Vivian trying to get Victor plastered  .
I'm enjoying the Nicole/Rafe scenes and the Philip/Melanie/Nathan/Stephanie stuff.

That is so funny coming from Vivian given you can tell LS had work done. I really wish they would so something with her hair. It's a little better then when she first returned but she needs her hair to be a bit longer to make her face look a little better.

I love that they had Rafe soften toward Nicole. That was nice. Ari rocked it and Galen did pretty good too IMO.
Philip and Melanie are just too cute today!
The EJ/Arianna stuff was boring until she arrived at the pier to meet Troy and EJ came up behind her. Hope something exciting happens with this today because this story needs something to bring it back to life.
