DR DAYS Exclusive: Death of a Horton in 2010!; Big story for Suzanne Rogers?!

I'm beyond thrilled with this news. Frankly, this should have been done YEARS ago.

HOWEVER....

Two things.

1) This has to be done well. No half-assing around here. Mickey was on original, core-family member. I want to see old characters returning and flashbacks. Anything less will be unacceptable.

2) I do NOT want Sami or her brood at all involved in this, in any way, shape or form. Period.

Days definitely needs to bring some people back for this. I'd like to see Jennifer again. Maybe they could bring back Melissa Reeves for the funeral and then recast the role with Terri Colombino if Missy doesn't want to stay long-term. After all, Terri won't have a job much longer, LoL.
Missy Reeves sounded very interested in returning in that Michael Fairman interview a few months back.
Jen would be the perfect addition now that we've got a Hope/Carly storyline that's full of tension.
I just read a Scott Reeves interview where he said that his family wanted to keep their options open this year. He said the kids are currently being home schooled. He's already working on the west coast so I could easily seeing Missy Reeves coming back to the show.

You broke that news a lot easier than I was about to.
I completely forgot she had passed- I do remember reading that now. Too bad because she will always be Marie to me.

And I certainly don't think it would have been appropriate to be RUDE when posting about the death of an actor so I'm glad Phoenix posted before you had the chance. :)
Was I rude? That wasn't my intent. If it came across that way, I sincerely appologize.
Nah, that was to me.

Jennifer would be ideal for a return with Mickey's death and Carly on the canvas now. It would be really interesting to see how Jennifer reacts to the current Carly/Hope situation.
I've wanted Jennifer back ever since the first Carly and Hope faceoff. Hope acts like Carly never was close to anyone else in Salem but Bo. Jennifer is Carly's best friend and Hope's cousin. I really liked in the 90's how Jennifer was sort of torn between Hope and Billie and I would love to see her torn between Carly and Hope. That would be interesting.

As Angie said, Missy seemed interested and I do think the show was starting to film this story around the time she did that interview (I could be wrong but I think the timing works out) so that is interesting.

If Will is paralyzed in an accident caused by Maggie, this would be a great impact on her because, if you remember, when Maggie was first introduced she was partially paralyzed and on cruches due to a car accident that had killed both of her parents. If Maggie were to think she was the cause of the same thing happening to someone else, I could see it being devastating to her.
Plus, hasn't she been an AA sponsor for Lucas since 1998? It would be interesting to see how Lucas would react to his own sponsor falling off the wagon and putting his son in the hospital as a result of her drinking.

I just don't want to see anymore hysterics from Sami. Ugh.

Which paints Lucas's recent fall off the wagon and return to rehab in an entirely different light with and entirely different story motivation.

I think your best bet would be to expect her to be tied into this in a major way, that way there's no where for things to go but up.

It will be heart-breaking to watch, but I'm thrilled for SR. It's nice to see the older vets get decent storylines.

Hopefully the show will do this justice. I don't want a funeral that lasts for two scenes.

Yeah. He indicated that in 2003. That is why when SR got fired, he tried to save her job. He told Corday to kill Mickey off instead of Maggie but they went ahead with the story as written because JER wanted to do Mickey/Bonnie. Clarke went ahead and retired anyway. He wanted out of acting and his health was declining.

Didn't Suzanne mention in a recent interview that John Clarke had suffered a stroke recently?

Yep. Lucas fell off the wagon twice this year. This whole year the show was edcuating newer viewers on Maggie and her connections. We got alot of history mentions this year with Maggie. Her being a dancer in the past, her past as an alcoholic, etc. With the whole situation with Lucas this year, they were doing that but also laying the groundwork for what was to come with Maggie. That is why they had Lucas go off the rehab offscreen. They didn't want to play two "fall off the wagon" stories so close together. That and they wanted Lucas off the canvas...again LOL.

It will be interesting to see a role reversal with Lucas helping Maggie this time and IF Maggie hurts Will, that makes it all the more compelling.

I'm sorry. It's my fault. I'm incredibly medicated, and I really need to just stop typing. I just can't seem to.

Not sure if she mentioned it but someone did.

His health was declining in 2003 but, until recently, we hadn't heard any updates on him.

I would like to add to the predictions that I'm guessing there will be a huge snowstorm in Switzerland that week.

I certainly hope I'm wrong.

I didn't think it was because he necessarily wanted to retire. I thought he really didn't like the direction the show was going (with all the firings and the writing), so when he had the option, he retired. He tried to save SR's job because she needed the health insurance.

Thanks. Sounds like he was soured on the show anyway, and wouldn't have come back for a short scene even if his health was good.
