I would like to add to the predictions that I'm guessing there will be a huge snowstorm in Switzerland that week.

I certainly hope I'm wrong.
Or another surgery in the oh so progressive hospital.

I don't even think they'll mention why Marlena isn't there. Just that she sends her condolences.

I have received no info regarding what happens to Maggie after Mickey dies. All I was told was that Mickey dies.

I believe John Clarke wanted to retire from acting.
Yeah. He indicated that in 2003. That is why when SR got fired, he tried to save her job. He told Corday to kill Mickey off instead of Maggie but they went ahead with the story as written because JER wanted to do Mickey/Bonnie. Clarke went ahead and retired anyway. He wanted out of acting and his health was declining.
I didn't think it was because he necessarily wanted to retire. I thought he really didn't like the direction the show was going (with all the firings and the writing), so when he had the option, he retired. He tried to save SR's job because she needed the health insurance.
He was fine with the direction other then Maggie being killed off but he had pretty much already decided to retire prior to then. He was going to let Corday know of his intentions at some point. Suzanne got fired and then he told Corday he planned to retire so why not kill Mickey? Corday's hands were tied because JER wanted Bonnie and Mickey and did not want to change Maggie being the one to die. Clarke was also told Mickey would see much more story and Clarke could not handle that so that erased any doubt he had of retiring.

Marlena and Mickey go wayyyy back. Such as, to Deidre's first episode. It would just make no sense at all for her not to be there. Which is why I totally agree with you. (And good point Lysie, that top-notch hospital will probably need a little more time to deal with John's issues.)

Yup, Mickey was the reason Marlena came to town in the first place.

LOL.

Honestly, neither have I. I was told something that could possibly just be hearsay and that is that Maggie may be involved in an accident with one or more of Sami's children. It's not confirmed but I do think it's entirely plausible.

Marlena should be one of the people that needs to be there, but I doubt she will be. They better mention her though.

Marlena also wouldn't miss Grace's funeral or let her daughter go through most of the stuff she's been through this year without her.

I've accepted the fact that Deidre Hall will never be back on this show. Nor will Drake. I just can't see it. I think that is why they don't even bother half the time to mention them in scenes where they should. You can tell how tense things must be there.

This is great years. It was getting ridiculous never seeing Mickey. Can't wait to see Suzanne Roger's deliver this material. I really hope we at least get Melissa and Jennifer back.

I got myself good and pissed off about their absence earlier today. It's ALL coming back.

I hope the accident thing doesn't happen. I don't want Sami involved in any stories ever again. That's probably asking too much, but it's still what I want.

A pipe dream if I ever heard one. But, I'm totally with you there!

Well, for the sake of our sanity, let's hope that an accident involving a child of Sami's doesn't happen. Making this all about her would just piss me off, LoL. I do want Maggie to fall off the wagon though.

How funny. I was just thinking how nice it would be to have Sami in a coma.

I agree, once she's msised her own grandchild's funeral, every other absence seems tame by comparison.

As for Sami, I'm half expecting her to be the one who pulls Maggie from the brink of destruction. She is Sarlena, now after all.

Only if it's an off-screen coma.

I love this story for so many reasons. First, HORTONS! Yay! Second, all of the newbies will be backburnered even if its for a moment.

If Will is in an accident, dare I hope, for a good storyline for Lucas and Will. Maybe even Sami in support mode. This all sound rocking!

Which means I'm definitely getting my hopes up, Possibly too high.

Now can we please stop continuing this Sydney storyline?! My word! Put her with whoever is her mother and let it all die.
