Hope this is good, glad we won't have to see yet another painful Mickey recast. John Clarke is the only Mickey.

I keep getting excited about this, then picturing Maggie falling apart, surrounded by Mia, Melanie and Nathan. Not that they're bad characters (except Mia), but they really need to bring back some some substantial long term support for her (besides Doug and Julie) for this story to break Days' usual pattern of building potential, then throwing it all away.

Goodness! Don't say that six. The only people I want to see that's already on air supporting Maggie right now, are Lucas, Bo and Hope. Maybe Nathan, but not if he brings Melanie.

I want the rest to be a returns! Much like Y&R did K. Chancellor's funeral!

Well....I hope at least they bring Sarah and Melissa back for the funeral.

This would be a great time to bring back Laura on a permanent or recurring basis. Laura would fit nicely into Maggie's s/l, and Laura would also fit into the Vivian/Victor/Kate/Stefano s/l. (Laura and Vivian were allies in the mid-1990s; they were united in their hatred of Kate.)

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing Suzanne Rogers in action during this s/l. I'm a sucker for nostalgia, so I'm hoping for some awesome Mickey/Maggie flashback scenes....

I am so glad they are finally killing off Mickey. It is sad to say such a thing, but like everyone has been saying, the recasts sucked, and the excuses have been pitiful. It is long past time. I am also thrilled that this will give wonderful story for Maggie that doesn't require her to be nosing into other people's business. I heart Maggie! I love (and pray for follow through) the potential for Lucas being there for her ... and I am even cautiously ok with the idea of her falling off the wagon and possibly hurting Will .. thus the recast. I also know that Bryan is working every day this week, so that encourages me that he will be more heavily involved in the repercussions of this story. I'm going to keep my fingers, toes, wrists, and ankles crossed that we get some great returns (we already know Doug and Julie will be there), MR mentioned on Twitter a week or so ago (I think) that she and the kids were heading out to LA to be with Scott, so maybe she stopped by Burbank to shoot a couple of days?! ... just speculating, obviously .. I would die of sheer joy if we ever got Jennifer and Jack back, but I won't set my heart on it ... I just hope with all my might that this is done well, and not a 2-week-throw-away storyline .. I would HATE that.

I can tell you that Suzanne Rogers is very excited about this story and she has been thrilled with all the airtime she has been getting the past few months. The woman is a goddess, she deserves a good story to call her own!

Indeed.

Suzanne also enjoys working with Taylor and Molly. Involving Maggie in the Lucas/Chloe/Daniel story, with Melanie and Mia, and in the Carly stuff now was very smart. After this past year, I would guess many more viewers care about Maggie and that was the goal.

It also seems like the 2010 previews MAY be in the next SOD. If it is, we may get some more insight into this. My bet is they will vaguely reference to this story and simply hype up Maggie getting a story but I do think we may hear more about the rumored "Sami spawn accident." If we get reference to something tragic involving Sami and/or one of her kids, then we will know what is going on.

I would also suspect that ANY returns should be being leaked soon. Granted, Anna's return never leaked until last minute but given how much would be involved in a funeral for Mickey and all the people who would be involved (especially with returns), I would suspect something would have to get out eventually.

This isn't a big surprise for me...I'd seen the spoilers. But when they started showing photos at Maggie's with the old Mickey (John Clarke) in them, I assumed that was where they were going. In a way, it makes sense...John Clarke has said he had no desire to return, and the replacements didn't seem to go over well...I could've cared less about the General Hospital guy...he looked a little too old... and although I like Kevin Dobson, he'll always be Mack on Knots Landing to me.

I always hoped that JC would agree to show up for holidays, weddings, funerals, and other special occasions, but since he obviously is happy in retirement, I guess killing the character off is the best choice.

This is another reason I have a hard time with the Sami spawn rumor. They haven't even gotten Sydney back yet, and there's already a rumor that something going to happen to another one of her kids? Unless they get Sydney back at Christmas, Sami's story for the beginning of 2010 should still be Sydney and if they immediately move her into another kid tragedy that's so much overkill that there aren't adequate words to express it.

Thank god they haven't given Sami a split-personality
I would argue that they have, LoL.
Point. You know, if they actually wrote it in that Sami had split into 2 personalities -- Sami & Samantha, where one was normal crazy Sami and the other was Stepford-Sami, I could actually buy that. lol
That's to good of a storyline idea for Days to come up with.....

It would make sense though with all that Sami's been through in her life. If the car accident happens and one of her kids was involved that would be the perfect time for her to "break" from reality due to all of the stress.

I would think the Sydney stuff would be over by then. In all honesty, I wouldn't mind it if it is Will in the accident because I think that can work alongside the Sydney kidnapping. I doubt they would have something happen, though, while Sydney is missing.

My bet is that the accident is something that does not happen until sweeps. They can do one of those classic, ironic soap twists where Sami gets Sydney back and thinks the worst is over as we see Maggie get into an accident with Will.

They should have hired Kevin Dobson to be a new Bill Horton since the other actors that were well known in the role are now deceased.

Yeah. Dobson would've worked much better as Bill.

I always wanted Kale Browne as Bill but then they casted him as a throwaway character.

Truthfully, Kale was probably still too young to be Bill. I always thought that Nicholas Coster would make a good Bill recast along with Judith McConnell as Laura. :)

February? Do they normally put sweeps stuff in the 2010 previews issue, though? They would put that in the sweeps issue. I don't care how they play it, though. I'm tired of only seeing Sami's kids when they're involved in some sort of tragedy and of having to listen to their BSC mother wail.

They could still bring Kale Brown back for the Bill Horton role since not many people probably remember his throwaway character anyway. It's not like he was on the show for almost 10 years as a well known character and would be coming back as another well known character....

Oh, I would like that!

I'm sure Louise Sorel would too. She always goes on and on about Coster.

I think for that Mini-Maternity Leave, she simply squatted down in her dressing room and popped out the child and then reported to the set. Maybe it's something she learned from Sami.
Just LMAO!

I am just so excited about much of this...Jennifer returning and staying to get involved with the Hope/Carly story. And Melissa and a few others...just for a short while. And bringing back a few Hortons would just sweeten this whole storyline because otherwise, I could see Mia consoling her and that is just wrong.

And as far as Sami and her kids, I am intrigued by Will being involved and being paralyzed, but the thought of having Sami freak out and run around crying about her kid...just turns me off to this whole thing BIG TIME! I vote No! Unless they need to ship Will off to Switzerland and give Lumi a happy ending and Sami taking all of her kids with her, NO!
Have no interest in seeing Sami in this at all. Give the woman a break. Heck, give us a break!

The show only used to spoil stuff that would happen within a month of the preview but I have noticed since Tomlin came on that they do hint at things down the road, probably because they actually long-term plan now.

And, good point, Rhi. If Days can do what they did with Judi Evans and Josh Taylor, they can certainly do the same with Kale.
