One of the best. It suffered from too much interference (sound familiar?), choppy plotting and TOO MUCH CAST TURNOVER, but when it was at its best it was hard to top. |

^Me too. I wish they'd put the episodes online. I only remember a few things from the show (I remember Sydney Penny and Kim Zimmer being on the show.) My mother and grandmother were such huge fans. |

Having watched from beginning to end, I'll take a stab. C.C.: Jed Allan. Charles Bateman did a good job, but Jed kicked butt in his scenes with Lane Davies. Gina: Robin Mattson (but Linda was good too) Keith: Justin Deas, hands down Kelly: Robin Wright Penn Laken: Julie Ronnie. Pissed me off when they wrote out Laken because I thought what will Ted do, but then Stacy Edwards came on to play Hayley a few months later and I went "Laken who?" Mason: Lane Davies. The MASTER. Minx: Judith Anderson Santana: Gina Gallego Ted: Todd McKee Warren: Jack Wagner. Much as it pains me to say it. John was good as Warren, but the character had little to no story and zero chemistry with his leading ladies. Jack Wagner and Sydney Penny were gold. |

C.C.: Charles Bateman or Jed Allan- Paul Burke also played the part but JED ALLAN IS CC CAPWELL Gina: Linda Gibboney or Robin Mattson- Didn't see much of Linda in the role, but Robin made such a stamp on it (2 Emmy nominations to boot) that how could you not go with her? Keith: Justin Deas or John Novak- This shouldn't even be a question. Justin Deas was astounding as Keith Timmons, his best daytime role ever IMO. John Novak wasn't even in the same league. Kelly: Robin Wright Penn, Kimberly McArthur, Carrington Garland or Eileen Davidson- This is a tough one. While I loved Robin Wright in the role, I also fell in love with Carrington Garland. I'll go with Robin by a (long) hair, but Carrington will always have my heart. As for Eileen as Kelly......... :puke: Laken: Julie Ronnie, Susan Marie Snyder or Shell Danielson- All 3 have their strengths & weaknesses, but I have to go with Susan Marie Snyder. She's the only one who truly made Laken her own. Mason: Lane Davies, Terry Lester or Gordon Thomson- Lane Davies is the master. Period. NOBODY could rattle off Shakespeare and Mason's incredible dialogue like he. Davies had a wit that was unparalleled in the other two. Lester was lackluster at best. Thomson was much better and while he did manage to make Mason his own, much of the spark & with that was there with Davies was gone. Minx: Judith Anderson or Janis Paige- DAME Judith Anderson. Janis Paige was an understudy at best. Santana: Gina Gallego or Wanda DeJesus- The part was also played by Margaret Mitchell & originated by Ava Lazar, but Gina Gallego was the true Santana. While I hated the character, she played every flaw to perfection. Ted: Todd McKee or Michael Brainard- I'm in the minority but I LOVED Michael Brainard in the part and wished he had been Ted from the beginning. I never understood Todd McKee's appeal. I will say, though, that Todd McKee will always be the one I identify with in the part,. Warren: John Allen Nelson or Jack Wagner - I've never liked Jack Wagner and think he contributed to the destruction of the show, so I'll go with Nelson. Plus, you really believed Nelson's Warren was the son of Coster's Lionel- he had his mannerisms down pat! |

C.C.: Jed Allan Gina: Robin Mattson Keith: Justin Deas (I hates Novak as Keith..) Kelly: Robin Wright Penn (Robin Wright was so AMAZING! I ADORED HER SO MUCH! I hated second Kelly, but I really liked Carrington.. Eileen was such a miscast..) Mason: Lane Davies (Hated all other Masons) Ted: Todd McKee (Didn't really like the other Ted) Warren: Jack Wagner (don't remember Nelson as Warren, but I think Wagner did a good job..) |

I loved Santa Barbara for most of its run. Well, I don't remember the beginning. I'm not sure we even saw the beginning in Croatia. The first scene I remember is Kelly pushing Dylan (or Nick) out the window. But it really had good stuff. Elena Nichols stuff was so AMAZING. Mason and Julia's love story. Gina & Keith... So good! |

Manny, I think Croatian television started from second or third season. I remember on first episode we saw C.C is in a coma and Eden thinks she tried to kill him. She didn’t remember because she lost her memory. She didn’t know that Gina and Kirk did it. I was a huge Mason and Julia fan. |

Santa Barbara was the best example how you NOT should do an soap opera.... it was ALWAYS about Eden and Cruz...yeah the others of the cast were used too but it was all around eden and cruz.... and then after the couple was gone you have seen how destroyed the show was because they were the MAIN FOCOUS of this soap... bad that they focoused it on them two for ages instead of keeping them quietly |
