I just saw the final episode of Passions last night online.

And wow... that was some horrible horrible dialogue there. I forgot how bad it was. It was so contrived and forced and so unnatural.. Wow! And parts of the finale (mainly with Rebecca and Gwen, whose scenes with them going to prison were so retarded... I know they were going for funny, but wow.. that was bad).

But I loved that they included Timmy/Josh Ryan Evans in the finale. That was really nice.

It was very silly, but at the same time, I was very happy with the finale. It was fitting to me and tied up all of the stories, which is all I was hoping for!

i agree, the finale sucked big time. Timmy was the only good part about it. That part did make me cry.

I've really been missing Passions lately - I can't believe it's 5 years next month since it went off air!!

I've been re-watching the early years on YouTube over the past few weeks and it's reminded me why I fell in love with this show in the first place. The last few years were a hot mess though :/

James Hyde (ex- Sam Bennett, Passions) is in the newest Viagra commercial. Everytime it comes on my Mom and I joke that Ivy is in the tent on the beach waiting for Sam while he's out sneaking his dose of Viagra before he joins her. Kinda don't want to think about the character of Sam needing it though, that always seemed more along the lines of Jullian or Alistair.

As awful as this show got, I miss it. I do. Those clips were so much fun. It was the first soap I watched from the beginning and the first couple of years did a decent job at combining the characterizations and the craziness. But the characterizations just all went out the window. I think JER just said screw it in 2002 when Josh Ryans Evans (he was so good. I miss him) passed, it all went to ... well, I'd say hell but since the show literally DID go there ...

I loved how in the first few years there were actual plots with stakes. Like Sheridan buried alive, the Prom Boat (with Gwen spending an episode literally paddling a boat to the ship! LOL JER), etc. It just wasn't the same.

I can't believe it's been that long since Josh Ryan Evans died. It doesn't feel like it's been that long and just thinking that it was in 2002 makes me feel old. Passions and Sunset Beach were two soaps I watched for the most part from beginning to end. The last few years of Passions though were really awful in some aspects, especially in the way women were treated and the things that happened to them. That kind of stuff made me not watch as much as I would have had that kind of stuff not been going on.

I always wonder what the show would have been like if JRE hadn't died. I think he was easily the most beloved character on the show at the time. Not that I didn't like the Cracked Connie storyline (though I did not for a long while) or the Tabitha/Julian storyline with Endora (just crazy enough that it worked) but Timmy just provided some much needed innocence to the show.

I know it couldn't be helped, but I definitely feel that Passions lost a lot of it's heart when Timmy (and Josh) died. He was such a popular and unique character, and was completely irreplaceable. It was a blow I feel the show never really recovered from. The show was not the same from 2002 onwards. But 1999-2001 were absolutely golden IMO. The show was so strong then.

I watched the first 3 episodes on youtube and omg the acting so bad. I cannot believe they did that storyline with Sheridan and Princess Diana and her being chased
thru the Paris tunnels and crashing just like Diana. Are you kidding me? The sisters Kay and Taylor maybe act like 10 year old and not
16 year olds. I hate Luis just like I hate Rafe on DOOL. I might keep watching cuz I like reading comments on youtube but it will be very slow.

idk abt the best, lol, but it's not bad! For just acting, my faves were always Julian, Eve, Ivy, Pilar, and Rebecca. For character/storyline purposes though it's Sheridan & Luis.

I love Passions! It is my favourite soap of all time. I miss it so much. I would LOVE to own the whole series on DVD! I wish NBC/Universal would continue the story through novels (or better yet, a web series...). I have so many great ideas for the characters. Hidden Passions was a bestseller. Make it happen!

I agree, the show just wasn't the same. It's like JER just threw everything out of the window. I seem to remember him having this huge bible for Passions that had the first five years or something but after all these years I can't remember. But the turning point seemed to be in 2002 and the show really just wasn't the same. Not to mention the meh recasts.

I also feel like the double wedding and Sheridan's ridiculous year long amnesia (probably wasn't that long but it killed any momentum Shuis had, IMO, except for in 2004) were jumping points. Not to mention the never-ending Bermuda storyline and that god awful island with bad acting Christopher Douglas. Thank God for Amelia Marshall. Liz was so wicked vicious.

Kim Johnston Ulrich and Ben Masters were always so good and sold everything they were given. Ivy in her wheelchair for what felt like years was gold.

I do remember being interested again in 2004, but it quickly lost steam again.

I'm still so mad that they said there wasn't enough time to have Sheridan & Luis end up together b/c they got cancelled so quickly.

I wish DirecTV would of gave them another year, like they promised. I miss it.

Yeah, a full ten years would have been great. They could have brought back Grace and revealed the secret behind her amnesia, brought back Beth, reunited Shuis, brought back Charity and have her come into her full powers of goodness...*sigh* It could haveall happened if we'd just gotten one more season.

I will never be over the fact that Sheridan ended up with Antonio and not Luis. Still pressed over that. I do miss it though. It was so bad that it was good.
