That was the WORST Christmas in Days history IMO. It had no flow at all. Nothing happened. It was just a big mess. Let me put it this way. We all know I NEVER bitch about Days and that Christmas somehow managed to piss me off. |

I can't seem to recall what happened Christmas 05? What happened that made it so bad? |

That's exactly it. Nothing happened. I know the show tends to rush through some of the holiday happenings in recent years (ornament hanging, midnight mass, etc) but we barely got any of the happenings at all. There was too much focus on continuing to stall stories. Claire was still in the hospital. Jack was believed dead. Carrie returned to town with no fanfare whatsoever and then we got a stupid scene where Lucas and Austin got Sami and Carrie confused and kiss the wrong woman. It was all just a waste. There was very little happiness outside of the Horton house and we got like little to no focus on the happenings there. It just came off like the show forgot it was Christmas and threw it altogether last minute. The fact that JER wrote it made it even more shocking because he always made an effort with Christmas episodes. That one was just a mess. |

I just had to look it up because I couldn't remember what J&M were doing. Answer: Alex took Marlena to his cabin and burned milk in the fireplace. So, yeah, not the best holiday episode from that perspective either lol. |

I vaguely remember that. And something about Bo and Hope having great sex. Then Zach died a week later...and that was it. |

But THOSE scenes were awesome. At least, until it became a catalyst for Hatrick. |

I just watched the ending scenes from Christmas 2005. I didn't think it was that bad. We got Austin and Carrie reunited after 6 years. Lucas and Sami kissed. It looked like John was going to save Marlena from Alex, finally (even though he didn't). There was Jack outside the Horton house and the qeustioning of whether or not he was going to go inside to be with his family and let them know he's alive. You had Chelsea finally feeling accepted in Bo and Hope's lives, although it wouldn't last long. To me, 2005 was so much better than 2003. Christmas '03 was just so damn sad and depressing as the missing presence of five people that were just major parts of the show a few months ealier were no longer present. And we also had the lingering knowledge that Roman would be gone a week later. Seeing the hurt in John Clarke's face, which I don't think was acting at all, as well as Melissa Reeves, and others that lost longtime co-workers, just sad. I'd like to forget Christmas '03 ever happened. Hell, I'd even say that Christmas '05 was better than Christmas '08, which I hardly remember and it was just last year! |

I really don't either, and I'm too lazy and uninterested to go back and look. All I remember is that Chloe dropped her ornament and sang in front of the Hortons and it was awkward for me, I must add. Other than that, Christmas '08 is a complete blur. Edited by DrewHamilton, Dec 20 2009, 11:06 PM.

I just looked it up on YouTube Very unmemorable, although it's crazy how much better the show looked even a year ago. |

There have been better but Christmas 2008 was a solid Christmas. Very typical of Days. We got the Horton tree trimming, John having an epiphany about how important memories is and the true meaning of Christmas/family, we got a little miracle with Bo finding Theo with help from angel Zack, we had some great Dimera family scenes with John/Marlena/Tony/Nicole/EJ/etc, and we got a nice montage at the end with Chloe singing. It was IMMENSELY better then Christmas 2005. Things actually happened and you felt satisfied and felt like it was Christmas. I totally get you points about Christmas 2003 (although I felt Jennifer's miracle baby, Roman's marriage proposal even with knowing he was going to be murdered a week later, and J&M's wonderful alone scenes together have the episode a nice feel) but Christmas 2005 was so damn bad. Carrie and Austin didn't even really reunite. I remember people really complaining about it at the time and while Lumi's kiss was nice, it wasn't enough. There was no magic. No miracles. Barely any family scenes. It was like just another episode. There was nothing to look back at. Say what you want about 2003 or 2008 but you can at least look back and say "Well, Jennifer learned she was pregnant and Roman proposed in 2003" or "Zack helped Bo find Theo or John made fantastic progress or we had great Dimera/John/Marlena/Tony/etc scenes." What can we say about 2005? "John ALMOST saved Marlena...but he didn't." "Carrie and Austin reunited...barely." Sami and Lucas kissed...but it was mistaken identity that led to it." "Belle prayed for a miracle with Claire...but didn't get one." "The Horton's trimmed the tree...but did we even get the hospital party or midnight mass?" It was the worst Christmas I've ever seen in my over two decades of watching. Edited by PhoenixRising05, Dec 21 2009, 12:18 AM.

Oh yes, Christmas '08 was the beginning of the GROUND-BREAKING vision storyline for Bo.

I actually liked it when it started  . It fell apart for me right after Kayla got shot. By the way, does anyone know where I can find clips of Christmas 2006? They used to be on Youtube but they are nowhere to be found. That was the best Christmas IMO of this decade. 2006, 2002, and 2001 are the top 3 of this decade for me. |

What I'm not looking forward to this Christmas week... The Hortons treating Bo like the breakup is all his fault and Stephanie and Nathan, with Nathan reading the Christmas story... Many people call one of my very favorite characters on the show-- boring... But but nothing is less entertaining as Stephanie and Nathan, paint drying is more interesting... I'd rather watch my washing machine, than these two. What I am looking forward too... Bo, Carly, Hope and Vivian.... Hope just needs the word "fool" stamped across her head for listening and talking to this woman. Not to say that it doesn't make Vivian less entertaining. Rafe and Sami.... EJ and Ari... Love my favorite couple loving or whatever I'm good... And though I can't understand EJ and Sami being likable... for me every moment EJ is with Ari... I can't help but watch and rewatch.... Just watched a couple eps back to back - apologies if some comments are from Friday's episode, they've kind of blended all together. I seriously can't get enough of Vivian! I loved her scenes with Carly at the hospital and with Melanie at the Java Cafe. It was creepy what she did to that patient though - a great reminder of how sinister she can be. EJ and Ari - chemistry alert! This is the first time I'm enjoying Lindsay Hartley, to be honest. I don't think she's a great fit for DAYS, but I definitely see something here - and I like the drug connection, it's kinda bad ass, Lol! I like the actress that plays Gabby, but I feel like she lacks the maturity and confidence to be a legitimate love interest for anyone. She's fine as a sidekick character - kind of like Mimi back in the day - but she's awkward in scenes with Will and Chad (as is everyone in the teen set. He looks and acts way older than the rest of the crew). Finally, Carly's getting going. With that said, the scenes were still stupid - stuffing feelings down for "so long"? LOL, like what. a month? Either way, I reached a new conclusion for Bope: fuck it! Go Barly. I mean, I would rather see her with Justin or Daniel as I see more chemistry there, but Hope is such a freaking bitch. Does Daniel know Bo and Carly have a history? I was curious as Daniel mentioned that he knew Carly was married to Victor at some point. I find it hard to take Chloe seriously. She's like the long lost fourth Kardashian sister with all the makeup, boobs and hair. The entire "Chloe" look (seriously, how much eyeliner does she go through in a week? I thought Kate was over-the-top with the 'hitting the club at noon' look, but Chloe's even outdoing her!) is distracting. Also, it doesn't mesh well with Daniel's more laid-back, surfer attitude. Anna reveal was awesome, and loving this return so far. Also, only one pair of those boots were sold? I think it's obvious from the preview they were sold to Kate...as to whether this is a clue or a red herring, who knows. I honestly don't think it's Sami, or Stefano and I thought it might be EJ...but I don't think it's him either. I've gone in circles with the Kate theory, but I'm back to it. |
