I liked Brandt better than JKJ.
What? WHY?

I could never get over thinking he was a douche on the Real World.

Anyone remember that video that someone made - it was the Charity Rahmer/Drake Hogestyn school of acting, or something like that? I would love to watch that again but I can't find it.
YES! It was outstanding. They had great captions over it where Charity seemed to be adding some sexual connotation to talking with her dad. And of course alluded to Drake smelling a fart.

It's a shame that got taken down off YouTube for whatever reason. I tried looking for it a year or two ago and it was gone. :shame:
Oh, yeah! Drake always did "I smell a fart" DAHHHHHK look and whisper, though. So classic!!! That is one thing I've missed this year!

Brandt was terrible. I never accepted him as Philip. The whole era was a convoluted mess.

Thanks for the clip. Never stops making me laugh. Seriously I can't think of one actress or actor worse. Some come close but my god, there is nothing right about acting other that the fact she was speaking the lines instead of being quiet and doing sign language. That's about the only thing that would have made it worse her doing it in sign language. The hand gestures we would get....*shudder*.

Can someone fully explain the Charity/Drake school of acting clip please? What I wouldn't pay or do to see that clip.

It was just some random scene of Charity as Belle with Kyle as Phillip and they start off talking to Drake as John. I think they were at Tuscany or the Penthouse Grille or something because they were dressed up nice. It may have been around the time that Sami and Lucas got engaged as I think there's a moment of Charity congratulating her on that.

But during the whole scene the clip maker put a ton of sarcastic comments as a caption over everthing.

Oh my Goddess!

I can't believe I almost forgot
how awful Charity Rahmer was.

It was so bad, that you just had to laugh.
Or cry.
Or throw up.

Damn that Bitch!
Who the hell ever told her
she would be good at acting?

I hope that person has paid for their crime!

So count me in with the ones
who liked Kyle better as Philip.

He was good in the part.

Plus he was so manly.
With that great body of his...the hair on his chest.
Great big muscles.

My God was he so sexy!

At the time he was on,
I had a boyfriend who was built liked him...
kinda looked like him too.

It was awesome!...lol

The Philip of today is gross.
He has that bad case of GayFace.
Ick!

I don't know who is actually worse in that bathroom scene. I will say that towards the end of his time Kyle was better but this scene is bad for so many reasons. Philip is two different guys depending on who the actor is. Jay's is more sneakiness is more in a slimey way. Where Kyle's used more of the feel sorry for me in order to get what he wants. Both characters were pathetic in their own ways and I just never cared for the character of Philip.

I think that clip on DC was one of her first scenes on the show. From that moment you could tell it wasn't going to be good. I will at least give Days credit for getting rid of her as soon as they could unlike other soaps ("cough" Y&R "cough") who keep a bad actor on way longer than they ever should.

Whenever I want a goodf laugh, I look up Charity Rahmer clips on youtube.

She is so bad it's hilarious. I've seen some bad acting in my day but nothing compared to this. It looks like some SNL skit gone bad.

I've been trying to find clips of Charity Rahmer and D. Hogestyn together and that odd sexual chemistry (so I've heard) but no such luck. :shame:

Didn't Martha Madison lose out on the part when Charity got it?

Yes. Thankfully, TPTB quickly saw the error of their ways and corrected that particularly monumental fuck-up.

Yeah I remember Martha in a inteview once saying that she didn't get the part and then a couple of days later they called her seeing if she wanted the part. I think it makes it even crazier that the casting department chose Charity over Martha (even if you are not a fan of Martha's version of Belle).

I always thought/assumed that the Charity Rahmer casting was to make Belle fans accept Martha Madison as a replacement even though she was older and different than Kirsten Storms' Belle.

Well, it worked that way to a large degree. For me REAL Belle was Storms, but I could stand Martha. But Shelle was never the same...Oh, how I loved them.

People say this, but it seems like crock to me. It's a nice theory, but Belle isn't nearly an important enough character to waste time manipulating fans with a bad actress, only to have a pre-meditated plan to replace her with a better one. Time is money - and soaps weren't in good shape in 04, so who would waste money doing this? Lol...

Oh yeah! I just remembered - this was implied in the Hogestyn School of Acting clip, but anyway, there was an odd sexual innuendo between them...quite amusing.

I wish that clip was still around!

I had heard this before, but I find it hard to believe. Kirsten Storms made the choice to leave because she had that primetime show. I also agree with someone else that said Belle wasn't that important of a character to do something like that.

Now I could see them choosing Charity because she looked closer in age to Kirsten over Martha. I know there were many that complained Martha looked much older and it seemed for a while there they tried to dress Martha to look younger. So I could see them making the choice of Charity over Martha thinking the viewers would be more accepting of Charity because she looked more like Kirsten and at the time Shelle were a pretty popular couple.
