Note to Sami Brady: when you have canary yellow hair and multi-colored roots, don't pull your hair back so tightly that said multi-colored roots show. It looks tacky and makes you seem like someone who shops at Wal-Mart at 2:30 in the morning with a 5 of your screaming kids while you're wearing your pajama bottoms and houseshoes.
The roots didn't bother me as much as the resemblance to a horned back dinosaur. I don't know. The rest of the hair was TOO smooth and that brain was just too..............bumpy?

Braid, not brain! Although...............
My thoughts exactly ! She reminded me of the lizards from Super Mario Bros. movie. Bad move on the hair and make-up dept.
Which brings me back to Phil's greasebowl that doubles as hair! It (the hair) doesn't move when he moves his head. It just annoys me so much for such a good looking young man. :puke:

Okay, my main problem with that ending with Maggie is that if it were me and I'd just found my dearly loved husband dead, I think I might be inclined to call an ambulance immediately. Even if I knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was dead (and I knew there wasn't foul play involved), I'd at least phone a doctor, not sit in the kitchen and look wistfully at my wedding ring. IMO, Suzanne Rogers was wonderful in the material, but the material didn't ring true to me.
See, I disagree. She works at a hospital (I know not as a doctor but still) and

Well, now if that's explained onscreen, then it makes MUCH more sense and is understandable. I just thought it was an odd way to present it today.

I think it would've been better if we had seen the actual discovery. There would've been so much dramatic impact that way. Instead, with them writing it like this, I just find myself annoyed that they're still playing the "Mickey's in the next room but nobody can see him" game.

But how can you if you don't have the actor? If he had been able to come back, I think you would've seen the discovery and more. They may have even played out a long goodbye scene.

Body double. Don't show the face. Not that hard.

They could've had a body double on the floor (or the bed) facing away from the camera so we couldn't see their face. When Maggie starts doing CPR, just show her face and the chest compressions and then cut away before mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. It wouldn't have been that difficult. I just wanted to see Maggie's reaction to the initial discovery. I think it would've been powerful.

I just hope this won't ruin days chances of being renewed.
Seriously, with all due respect, enough with the doom and gloom. Days has done far worse and seen little to no audience erosion (hell, sometimes they've gone UP). It will be fine.
I think the show will be ok too but I wonder if the spoiler will have a backlash.
Spoiler: click to toggle
If anything, all it will do is get one particular fanbase worked up but I don't suspect the backlash to bleed over into the ratings.
The Bope fanbase probablly not but married women audience members, IDK.

Full bodydouble would be weird. I suppose they could make a scene where Maggie enters the bedroom, the camera focuses on her face as she goes from happy to sad, we donīt know why, and next there is a detail on Mickeyīs cold hand hanging over bed and Maggie entering the frame and craddling it, but Iīm not even sure Maggie/Mickey have some usable bedroom set and creating new for just one scene simply isnīt in the budget. We are happy to see the living room.

I think Tomīs dead was done the same way. I donīt remember weīd seen Alice finding his body either.

Body doubles aren't weird at all. Stop making excuses. The scene definitely would've been perfect if John Clarke could've returned. Since that was impossible, the next best thing would've been to have a body double. Let us just see from the chest down, or maybe a limp arm. Whatever. OLTL did it when Nigel found Asa and it made the scene so much better and more effective. I'm not saying that I'm pissed about the way the scene was handled, because I'm not, but lets not try to make up excuses just to suit the show and say that a body double would've been a bad idea. Because it wouldn't. It would've been the next best thing after not being able to get Clarke back.

As it was done today, it was almost like Maggie DID discover Mickey in bed with someone else or left her a note saying he was flying the coop or something. Very strange. I agree with the body double. It would have been more powerful. A hand, an arm......something. The Maggie/Lexie thing was sort of out of left field, but I guess since Maggie volunteers there so much, it makes sense. That was a nice little scene.

Re: today: Teasers for Brady and Nicole! Darn. Arianne Z. played it well to the end. Ditto Nicole and Chloe's scenes. I love it when Nadia is able to emote. Arianna (the character. That gets me confused sometimes!) was doing the scarf thing. It's an epidemic. I know scarves are the style, but the thicker kind that you wear outside? Maybe in the Midwest, we do things differently. (Hey, wait, they ARE supposed to be the Midwest.)

Sami/EJ/PatrickStar (errr, Rafe. Damn, I'm going to have fun with this!): Just.....What? What? Blather, blather.

Taylor S. doesn't have what it takes to be a little shit. I do like Gabi. Good for her.

EJ and Anna..........can't wait! I'm interested in the interaction tomorrow.

Oh man the death happened today?! What part of the episode does it happen? I have to go somewhere and need to know if I can catch that part on Soapnet tonight at 6.

It was near the end of the episode. Maggie came walking into the kitchen looking upset, then she sat at the table and started fidgeting with her wedding ring as she sobbed silently.

It's not the last scene, but it's like third to the last scene. They show Maggie reacting to what she just found and then it goes to Sami and Rafe, and then EJ and Anna.

Thanks Kenny and Drew, I'll be able to catch it. This thread blew up, so I haven't bothered to read through it, so Nicole was really sentenced to 20 years? Was there like an early release for good behavior deal set up or something like that?

I thought the last Maggie scene was subtle, but it got the point across. We didn't get hysterics from Alice when she went upstairs to check on Tom.

Phoenix's explanation means Friday's show should be really good when it comes to Maggie. Can't wait to see it.

I missed most of today's episode due to a Special Report so all I saw was Maggie enter the kitchen, sit down and start crying. She did a lip blow thing and I ate it up, got some goosebumps.

Nicole's plea to everyone to keep on truckin' was laughable and arrogant, as if everyone is sitting on their thumbs (ok, they kinda are) and now that she speached them they'll find Sydney. The only time I enjoyed EJ was when he was rolling his eyes, otherwise his behavior is weird. Bricole have some chemistry but they are killing it with having them be star crossed lovers all along, it just doesn't ring true for them. Chloe and Nicole's friendship is bothersome.

They are laying on Mia's bitchyness too thick. I like Gabby as the wide eye innocent girl.

I thought Maggie looked....lost. As someone who suddenly lost a close family member a couple years ago, I can identify with her reaction. She's stunned, in shock...this is going to be difficult to watch, but SR should be amazing.

The scarf epidemic is very distracting. As is Sami's horrible, horrible hair. Who's doing hair and wardrobe there--Theo and Ciara?
