JS is so hot he can blink, flap his arms, fake shake all he wants and he will still be a GOD to me!!!

Long live EJ DIMERA!
Yep, that seems to be the mentality alot of people have when it comes to him. It's all about looks and accent, nothing about acting.
Oh I don't watch DAYS or any of the other soaps for that matter for the acting. Please!

When I watch a soap, I want hot daily romance and angst with super attractive people! Great acting be damned. (except maybe for Ari Zucker - that chick rocks!)

If I want to watch great acting, I'll go watch something like LA Confidential, Memento or Unforgiven.
Well, for me, if I want JUST hot bodies, I know how to Google them. :D

No, not just hot bodies - hot romance and ANGST! Though I haven't seen much of that lately on this show.

The best moment from todayīs show was the preview with Melanie entering the house. The look Julie shoot at her could kill Goliath. Only Molly can inspire writers to write entreé like this.

I think this was the last episode we saw Dylan and Taylor together in any meanigfull scenes. I think thatīs why they split them up again, to reset all the characters (and relationships) and start from beginning. Dylanīs Will was almost like Lucas Jr. but I think the new Will will be more like Sami, thus able to deal better with Miaīs newfound bitchiness.

Vivian was delicious with Carly and it was good buildup for the end with Bo, but they could edit the scene little better. Iīm not sure why they didnīt show Carly reaching for her cellphone and calling Bo. He could cut the talk with Rafe and rush over to the hospital and the continuity would work much better. Maybe they had to edit it for time reasons. Still, nice moments and really bold from the writers starting the Bo/Carly affair just when Mickey dies and Hope is more vulnerable than ever. Thatīs one thing I really like about the show under Tomlin. Even with all the compromises the timing and planning of the stories is amazing. Everything has its reason.

I really and strongly disagree with anyone who expected some hysterics or nearly collapse from Maggie. I would hate that. Maggie is a strong woman and she reacted exactly as I imagined she would. First shock, but immediatelly turning into practical mode and making list of people who needs to be called and preparing the burial. And thankgod someone finally mentioned Aliceīs fragile health. Even when we ignore what we know about Frances Reid, Alice is still 90 year old woman and pretend she is still in a perfect condition (especially when we never see her) is stupid.

Nice scenes with EJ, Anna and Sydney. Itīs really fun how the editor chooses the inserts with Sydney in appropriate mood so it almost looks like she understands what is going on. I loved her puzzled, suspicous look in one of the closeup. And that scene at the end was so cute. I definitely want to know what the plan is.

I agree, but I can't remember the last time he brought it.
I thought he did a great job with the last, or was it second to last?, baby reveal. The one where he confronted Nicole about adopting Sydney.
That was good. When he was with AZ, they both did a great job. They seemed to bring out the best in each other. At least in my opinion.
I agree. They worked very well together.

He did have a book on his lap.
Did he? I will have to go back and look later.

I hope he did because, otherwise, he ruined that scene.

I agree with all this and interesting point about Will/Mia. I think your right about that. It was weird how the Will/Mia/Chad/Gabi stuff finally moved this week. They've been resetting the dynamics since Gabi arrived. They are using her to turn Mia around and now we are getting the setup to whatever change is coming with Will with the recast. Should be interesting.

And AMEN in regards to Tomlin and co and how planned out things are. It all just clicks, story-wise. Sometimes things aren't executed from a technical standpoint or in terms of how scene is played but the overall story itself is planned out really well and alot of thought is put into it IMO.

I agree about Maggie too. Her reaction was spot on. I remember when Shawn Sr died many wanted hysterics with Caroline too and I felt it would've been a mistake then too. I think in both cases the reactions were true to character and story.

AZ brings out the best in everyone, imo.

No problem, Phoenix, although that scene was adorable, so I'd recommend watching it again, anyway. lol

You know, I just realized with the teen quad that with Mia going bitchy (which actually works for the character, much in the same way that Nicole was about as exciting and interesting as a wet mop before she took money from Kate to marry Lucas) and if nuWill takes after Sami, the writers might be intending on pairing Chad & Gabi as the rooting couple with Mia & Will functioning much like Lucas & Sami did with Austin/Carrie.

Seriously, I totally phase out guys who can't really act. It's too superficial for me. Yeah, great acting and soaps might not go together, but those are the stories I ignore.

Dammit, speaking of good acting....
I've started my recording, and I'm a blubbering mess with the scene with KA and SR. Damn, they're bringing it. And there's a sentimental sense to this....going back to the Horton family and the Horton closeness. Damn.

These scenes at the Horton house were so much more powerful with the body double.

You didn't feel any of the other scenes were powerful except that one? Just curious given the discussion we had yesterday because so far this is really the only board where I've seen reactions that suggest the lack of a body double hurt the scenes for them.

I think that may be where they are going.

I always felt initially that Will was going to be more like Sami. Will was a bit snotty when Dylan first came on but after a few months we lost even that aspect of him. He become too much like present day Lucas and that was a big mistake.

Does that matter? Our opinions are the same as any other board.

Anyway, all of the scenes at the Horton house were powerful. I was just pointing out that the scene where Mickey was wheeled away was great because we actually got to see "Mickey" one last time. And Maggie holding his hand, his wedding ring, it was all just great and the body double was necessary to give all that. It proved much more powerful than if the entire episode was just Hope and Maggie discussing Mickey's death in the kitchen, only mentioning that the coroner is in the other room taking Mickey away.

But yes, every scene was great today. Superb acting by Suzanne Rogers. And Kristian Alfonso impressed me as well. It's funny how she's shown more emotion over Mickey's death than she through the last few months as her marriage is falling apart. Glad to see Alfonso still has it, since she wasn't delivering in her own story.

Today's scenes were so great with Suzanne Rogers!!

I'm so glad EJ is behind the kidnapping, he was so cute with little Sydney today.

And I pray that Anna sticks around after this, she's great.

I wouldn't be opposed to that, providing they recast Mia. I still don't like Spreitler. Her character is more interesting now that they've made her a scheming bitch, but it takes a little more than dark eyeliner to make an actress come to life, LoL. (Notice they're letting Mia wear makeup now that she's a "bad" girl?)

Also, I wish that these characters were a little more connected to the families on the show. Mia came out of nowhere and she has no familial connections. Neither does Chad. Gabi at least has siblings, but they themselves have only been on the show for a year. The more I think about it, the more I wonder why the hell I'm supposed to care about these characters. Why are they getting all the focus as opposed to, say, the janitors at Titan? Hell, even the janitors at Titan have more of a place on the show because at least they work for Victor. But Mia and Chad? Gabi? They all came out of nowhere for no reason whatsoever and they've all annoyed me from the start, so it's difficult to really invest in anything involving them.

I feel the same way, I hope maybe they can make Chad an insta-Horton that was given up for adoption or something. That would make his and Will's rivalry a little more personal.

LoL. It wouldn't be so bad if Will was the focus of the story, because at least he comes from a core family, but he's not. He's simply an afterthought while Mia and Gabi get all the glory.

I guess I'm just so connected to the families on the show that I simply don't care about stories involving random newbies who have no real purpose other than to fill airtime. I mean, I see Mia and I'm like, "Okay... she served her purpose in the baby switch story. It's over now. Why is she still on my screen?" Same goes for Chad. I don't mind Casey Deidrick, but he served his purpose and he should be gone now.
