No, there really isn't seeing as there was plenty of doubt introduced as to what he was doing, and why. Both things if taken at face value, were clearly not very well thought out, and could obviously cause hurt feelings. The fact of the matter is people have just as much right to take GG or JS, or anyone else to task as those actors have to do what they want to do. If you don't want people commenting on your actions then become a hermit, don't put yourself into the spotlight, and what makes you think people who were following him didn't like him? He* did something dumb. It's not anyone's fault but his, and it's all blowing over, anyway. *if it was him. Edited by six, Jan 5 2010, 12:34 PM.

I can't believe there is a 7 page thread about this, lol. I honestly don't recall there ever being a thread at all about James flipping off the entire Lumi fan base, but whatever. I saw all hi tweets as they were happening and I went from wtf? to lol, to umm, ok. Never was I offended. I thought it was odd, but whatever. I don't think it is a big deal. Its not like he took to his twitter account to proclaim that soaps and their fans are idiots ... then I could see a big ass thread about it .... but again, whatever. Honestly though, I really think the upset is because this was Galen ... and I am in no way a fan. |

That is one thing I noticed in the past. Galen never seems to tweet as much. Ali basically pushed for him to even get on Twitter in the first place. Ali, Nadia, Taylor, Casey, Crystal, and Molly tweet a ton. As does SC and EM, to a lesser extent. Galen doesn't much at all and all of a sudden he starts tweeting like this and in the tone he was doing so in? Something just isn't right. Maybe his account was hacked or it was a friend. I will wait and see if that theory is validated because it all seems way too fishy based on how he usually tweets. The man has kids and a wife so I'm not too sure he would've spent that much time On Twitter discussing Dick Clark during New Year's unless his wife already went to bed or left him alone for awhile in a public place. Hell, I didn't see anyone else Twitter as much as him let alone on a single issue for that long of an amount of time. It's just weird all around, which is why I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. If he was one who Tweeted alot and usually carried on his sort of tone in his comments, I would be a bit more unsettled by this. That does not seem to be the case so it feels unfair for me, personally, to take this at face value and condemn the guy until I know for sure if everything is on the up and up. IF he said it, I just hope he learns from this and presents his opinions a bit more carefully in the future. |

I'm sure there's a clause in their contract prohibiting them from embarrassing the network and the show which extends into their "off time". I know I had to sign one when I took a position in my office. Wasn't Austin Peck fired because of his affair with a married co-star? I'm pretty sure that was on his own time. |

I love how everyone is defending the guy. So he tweeted some crap that offended some people, it's the internet, I expect as much. He thinks he's funny, we think he's being a douche. If you already don't like him it adds fuel to the fire, if you didn't care before you might swing another way and if you loved him you are probably trying to rationalize it. If he was hacked and Nadia knew about it I'd bet he would have either apologized or rationalized, but not yet... |

Maybe in the real world. Don't watch other soaps, so don't know about AP. In Hollywood, though, any publicity is good publicity. I saw the tweets that day and was surprised, but assumed he was drinking or whatever. Who cares?? I forgot about it that day, and it wasn't until I saw this thread that I thought about it again. I just see it as another reason for GG haters to bash him. And honestly, I kind of agree with him about DC. I don't watch DC on NYE b/c it's too depressing to see him that way. He wasn't being PC, but it's not like he said anything (in my opinion) that was so awful. |

Seriously, what Galen has said is inexcusable! How could anyone say that about an American icon who is suffering from an incurable ailment. Dick Clark is living with it the best he can and I applaud him for his courage. Only an insecure coward would say the things Galen said. Six, I LOVE your avatar!! Eric looking at me with those fuck-me eyes. Wowza! |

:iagree: I just hate the flipping off James did at the Safe fans, and there are pictures of this, was okay, just fine, because he is King James Scott :hail: all he does is wonderful. :puke: Normally I don't have anything against James Scott, he's a great actor, but you cannot with any nonbiasness pardon one and not pardon the other. This is hilarious. I was listening to Mick Francesa's New York sports radio show at work and he just made similar comments to Galen about Dick Clark and even referenced a discussion he had a few weeks ago about sportscasters knowing when to hang it up because a time does come when you must. You what the best part is? He got callers who agreed with him and again made similar comments to Galen. LMAO. This topic is everywhere! |

Thanks, yea Eric is hot. For all the accusations of bias, can anyone truly say they saw one person excusing JS, and also saw that same person raking GG over the coals? |

Since he was also talking about the Karma Sutra I thought the comment, "Galen should be awake soon" was a reference to "little" Galen. My only question is if it was someone else why hasn't he deleted the posts? Oh and as far as Twitter is concerned, not all publicity is good publicity. I read an article that said some producers are actually putting clauses into contracts that forbid an actor from Tweeting about whatever project it is. And I have yet to see this infamous James Scott "bird" picture. I did read when AS tweeted saying that everyone was having a lot of fun and getting into trouble - she was laughing about it so it couldn't have been too ugly. |

Safe fans? Wasn't it the Second Chances logo, therefore it would be Lumi fans? |

It's in the first post in the thread here. http://secondchanceslumi.com/topic/6577647/1/ Earlier in the thread people were complaining about Galen being rude to a fan who took issue with what he said on Twitter. In reference to that topic--rudeness to fans--JS's alleged actions at a fan event are certainly quite arguably on topic in this thread. If this thread has taught me nothing else, it's that Dick Clark is far more of a beloved icon than I had previously imagined. |

There is no way to compare the 2 situations. GG makes fun of someones disabilities and that is WRONG! He could wish to be half the man DC is. |

So..... Did the Lumi fans invite James Scott to a Lumi event? And then got pissed when he flipped someone off? I'm confused. :drunk: |
