referring to the fans as rapemis, is the same as calling them ejamis, or others safes, or bopes, or lumis, or oh I don't know, lumitics, lunis, lumisafehoes ... you know ... the fan base shit gets petty on all sides, but the rapemi name is based on combining "rapist" with Sami ... that's all. But whatever.
Yea, it can get petty on all sides, and rapemis is designed as a jab, just as much as several of those other names are.

I already said it was a combination of Rapist and Sami. What exactly is Lumitic? Or LuNi? Or Eholes? I'm curious? Seriously? I'm only pissed right now because of the victim act. Don't act like that fan base doesn't have quaint little nick names for Sami's and EJ's other pairings. Back in 2006, when EJ raped Sami, many fans took to calling EJ the rapist. It stuck. Rapist and Sami became, rapemi. Yeah, it is tacky, and so is the pairing.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deepany group of fans as the "rapemis" (Rape Me's?) is even more tacky and tasteless than usual, IMO.
Well I personally find the coupling tacky and tasteless, so its appropriate. The names that they have for Lumis and Ejoles and Safes are not any better, like I said, its petty all around ... but fine whatever, lets make this about Lumi fans now, instead of the fact that James Scott did something fucked up to the fans, and what he did was comparable to what Galen allegedly did ... which was why it was brought up in the first place.
Okay, Lumi is combo of LUcas and saMI, Safe is combo of Sami and rAFE, Ejole is EJ and nicOLE..........where exactly does rape fit with EJ and Sami??

THIS is the point I'm making........it's not just like the other names for the other fan groups..........
She can speak for herself (but apparently I'm going to beat her to it), but I think she meant the similar derrogatory names opposing fanbases have come up for those couples. And I agree. I do think RAPEMI is tacky, but it's not any tackier than any of the others that have been made up and used against other couples/fans. There's on for pretty much every couple that involves Sami or EJ.
Thank you. That is exactly what I meant.

As far as JS, GG, and BD are concerned they did what they did..........build a bridge...............I don't see any of it as life altering, maybe poor judges of character at the moment......we've all been there (or at least I have).
I don't really know what you mean by "build a bridge," but IA that all three of them have had moments where detractors can point to them and say they're classless. Personally, I don't get being all riled up about what any of them said or did. They're just C-list actors on a shitty show. It happens to be a shitty show that I like and I like the cast, mostly, but it is what it is. Public figures, even more marginal ones like these three, say and do stupid shit quite frequently. In this case, I'm not even bothered by what GG said.

That is not at all what I said, meant, think, or feel. It is not Rape Me. It is rapeMI ... you know, M-I, as in the last two letters of SaMI's name? WTF?

You're right. It's all tacky and stupid. However, I still believe that referring to a fanbase as the "rape me's" is more tacky than all the other silly names re: "Lumitics" and "Eholes." I don't know. Something about rape just isn't clever or tongue-in-cheek humorous to me.

Meanwhile, I find it very interesting that there's supposedly no double entendre at all to the phrase "rapemi," even though pronounced out loud it sounds just like "rape me." Coincidence?

I think we're basically on the same page here. Doesn't really matter to me what they said or did......they can deal with the fall out. I watch a fictional show that as you said is somewhat shitty alot of the time, but it's one of my guilty stupid pleasures............go figure..

eholes isn't offensive because Nicole is in fact, what some would call a ho, and lunis isn't a jab because Lucas is a lunatic.

What? ^_^

There have been people that have said that fans of EJ and Sami together support rape and other things along those lines.

It's not humorous to me, either. While I know it is just a show, I don't find rape on television entertaining, nor do I find a bullshit redemption of the perpetrator and consummate romance between him and his victim humorous, entertaining, or romantic. In fact, I found/find it extremely offensive, hence the offensive nickname for the coupling.

Oh, I see--I guess I don't use that expression much, but I've heard it. Yeah, I think we're on the same page. I guess in this case for me, it's a combination of not caring much what public figures say and me personally not caring about Dick Clark. I was a lot more bothered by Rush Limbaugh mocking Michael J. Fox, since in that case it was, as I recall, Rush suggesting Fox was faking it, in whole or in part. I just don't think it's so terrible that GG thinks it's time for Clark to give it a rest. It's not like Dick Clark gives a crap what GG thinks, I'm sure.

Exactly! That's the point I was trying to make in my post. I know all the fan bases make up crude or funny names for the "other " relationships, but this one goes over the line IMO. Just because I like a FICTIONAL pairing in no way means I'm a fan of rape! It's more than a little insulting to say the least.....but such is life.....

Thanks for saying it better than I could, Kenny.

Yeah, it should, because I am referring to a fictional coupling on a fictional show and I can refer to them however I want. I am not posting that fans of EJ and Sami want to be raped, are fans of rape, or anything else personal or offensive, I am calling a coupling between a woman and the man who raped her, rape-mi. Period.

That's fine.

Directing that anger at the fanbase by calling them the "rape me's"/rapemi's/whateverthefuck is extremely tacky to me though. I mean, seriously.
