Victor was awesome today. When he told Brady , "I think I liked you better when you were high," I about died! Whoever is writing his lines is doing a great job. Victor just keeps getting better and better. I think I enjoy him more then Stefano now.
I haven't seen it yet but that line sounds stupid, Brady wasn't even in Salem when he was on drugs.
Victor actually saw Brady when he was high. That was explained in April 2008 when it was revealed that Victor arranged for Brady to disappear and stashed him in a rehab.

Dammit if I didn't start laughing at the hot Barly scenes due to the freeze frame still that Kenny featured in another thread. I don't care about Bope much, but I felt like Bo was being a little too ready to bump Carly, even when she tried to stop it. It was obviously a comfort thing, but probably not the best time for it. Still don't feel bad for Hope...she just pales in comparison to Carly. Love that Bo said something about "it's not like we don't have a history"....true.

Phillip and Vivian were great...love that Phillip kind of softened toward her and I loved how Vivian's soft side came out. Dare I say I almost felt sorry for her? She seemed genuine, and if I were Phillip, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get on Vivian's good side. Love those two! Cut the hair, JKJ! You didn't look good today.

I also think that this death would have a bigger impact if we would have seen Mickey lately, but SR and Julie and Nathan were just powerful today. Lots of little things that made it good...wondering if one of the writers recently lost someone and are remembering all the little nuances that come with dealing after the death.

I like Nathan. And I think I prefer Melanie with him over Phillip...if she has to be with either one of them. Can't we just scratch her and start over? Her little adolescent giddiness about being a Kiriakis with Arianna drove me nuts.
And Arianna...get the fuck over it! I don't mind her much, but when she gets all Nicole crazy, she comes off as a whiny, needy shrew. I know Nicole is a threat to any relationship - because she is so damn awesome - but being in prison allows for some leeway in her ability to get in the way. Stop being such a whiny, insecure pussy and get on with your life.

So, who put out the hit on Arianna? Was it EJ or is Troy doing this on his own?

Great show today!

But what else should Victor get on Daniel about? There is nothing else LOL. Plus, for as much as Victor professes that Daniel is "family," it's still not the same as Brady and Philip, who are blood relatives. It's different with them. Brady is his beloved Isabella's son and Philip is the one child he's had the chance to actually be a father to since he was born. I wouldn't expect Victor to be as hard on Daniel as he is those two. And Victor has been hard on Daniel in the past. It's just always been over the women in his life and that is simply because he's never had another reason to be hard on him about.
That's my point, lol. Daniel is written as Dr. Perfect, surgeon and diagnostician extraordinaire, and personally I find him a magical combination of boring and irritating, much like Sami. Be that as it may, though, no matter how delightsome Daniel may be, no matter if he can cure cancer with one glance, I still think Victor wouldn't care about him more than he does Brady or Philip, and since Daniel got to town, he's seemed to. I don't really see what Philip and Brady have done recently, other than Philip proposing to Melanie, that would have Victor acting like they've been giant disappointments to him since day one.

LOL because they are his BLOOD. That is what I'm trying to say. He can act like Daniel means more but he doesn't. In fact, alot of times I think he treats Daniel the way he does to motivate Brady and Philip, if they happen to be around.

Victor is the type of person who will always want better for his family. Nothing will ever be enough. He will always push harder. He thinks that is what made him the person he is and he wants success for Philip and Brady too. Brady has always been like a son to him. He never got the chance to be a father to Isabella so I think he carries out that wish by being like a father to Brady. Philip is the only child he had the chance to raise and see grow up. It's a different dynamic and that is why he treats them both differently then Daniel.

I can buy that to some extent, but it does bother me that Victor's so nasty and grumpy with them so often. There's a fine line between motivating and wanting better for the people you love and driving them away because you're too demanding. I would either like to see Victor's soft spots for Philip and Brady appear more often or I would like to see a real story for Philip and Brady where they decide to strike out on their own because they're tired of Victor's controlling and demeaning ways. I'd like to see how that would affect all three of them. We get these occasional two-day disownments but they never seem to mean anything or carry any emotional weight. I'd like for this to be an actual front-burner story. I think the Kiriakises are better set up for that kind of conflict because you have good-guy Brady and grayer but still decent Philip, neither of whom have begun to scratch the surface of the kind of stuff Victor's done. EJ's committed so many felonies in such a short time that I don't really care if/whether this disownment of Stefano sticks, particularly since he's dealing drugs without Stefano's involvement anyway.

People can say what they will about how they're handling this Mickey storyline, but all I know is Suzanne Rogers had me bawling like a newborn today. I love that Julie was next to find out. She was so close to Mickey growing up. They hit all the right beats today, including Nathan calling Melissa and her flight arriving that night. While some may pan the Melanie drama, it was a nice dose of reality. Time doesn't stop for the dead. It was nice to see someone on the frontburner give new viewers a stronger connection to Mickey and Maggie through Melanie. Fickle as she is, she is trying to make the right choice and find what Maggie had.

Vivian and Philip's scene was great. Louise plays her so eccentric that even when she's being vulnerable and serious she is just bizarre. I saw a lot of what drove her relationship with Lawrence in the 90's in these scenes. It's almost like Philip is replacing Lawrence, or at least, filling that void. It was a very important beat to play and will make things very interesting in the coming weeks, I think, especially if speculation is true. Did anyone else think Victor was talking about Philip before they cut to Bo when he said he hopes they're not too late before she gets her claws into my son? They made that as almost a subtle hint, even though they cut right to Bo/Carly.

Meanwhile, there was nothing romantic in what happened. Bo is a great prick and I can't wait for him to find out what happened to Hope's family and FEEL like a great prick. I'm sorry, but the whole forget about the outside world thing was SO an excuse for him not to feel any guilt or responsibility towards Hope and his family and it was just downright rotten. Carly's no better for letting him convince her. It was nice to see Reckell topless again, though.

The death scenes were alright. But imo, not a huge tearjerker since Mickey has not been seen for so long. And it was an age appropriate death. Sometimes people get old, and they die. Sad but not tragic. I like Susanne but I think Peggy McKay was better when she found out Shawn died. JMO

I thought Bo and Carly were great. LOVED every minute. Don't feel Bo's a prick at all. Just a man FINALLY tired of being treated like a piece of crap. Carly has gotten not once ounce of kindness from most of Salem. She did nothing but help them when she lived there. Their acceptance of psycho Viv pisses me off. Who is OK with a woman who has kidnapped and infant and kept that child from his mother for ten years; stole and embryo and dares to call the child HER son; buried someone, anyone, alive. Every person in Salem ought to treat Viv as a pariah, not the woman that saved many of their and their loved ones lives.

The real prick of the show is Vic. The nerve of him to expect his grandson to hate Nicole because , SHOCK, she tried to kill him. Everyone else seems to have forgotten that Vic tried to kill his son Bo twice, and nearly killed Carly in the process. As well, no one takes Vic on for his misogynistic bs toward every female. I want to see the women of Salem to take Vic on the same kind of journey the women of 9 to 5 did to their boss. Tie him up like an old cow, and hang him in cuffs and underwear from the ceiling, and let all the women of Salem taunt him.

Yeah I love Bo/Carly but I couldn't believe Bo was saying they had nothing to feel guilty about. He was kind of coming off a jerk towards Hope.I can't blame Carly for giving into her passion.Girl probally hasn't had any in a few years although it was wrong.

Bo is a prick. He starts the day being a hypocrite with his anger with Hope over kissing Justin. Then he shows just how immature he can be with his little convo with Justin where he was upset with Justin for kissing "HIS WIFE" and "THE MOTHER OF HIS CHILDREN".

Then in a few short hours he's leaving everything outside and wanting comfort sex with Carly. Little did he know she was so rough LOL! He should have downed more beers.

Yep, this guy is a prick. I don't understand why any Carly fan would want her with Bo. He's using her big time. Looking forward to everyone in Salem giving them a lot of grief this week.

Bo is about to know what a piece of crap actually does feel like when the aftermath of his "escape" hits him. Carly may have been St. Katerina Von Whatever 20 years ago, but this time around the only one she's been helping is herself to someone else's husband. I don't think everyone will be bowing down to her greatness anytime soon now that she's about to be publicly outted as a whore.

Can't wait for the crash and burn to start.

Nice work from BD. Maybe if he had material like this more often he would still be around :/

Hated the Bo and Carly scenes today. Bo is an absolute jerk and while I appreciate Carly making a token effort to stop things, she has feet and could have used them to walk away. I haven't been a fan of Hope's behavior, but it doesn't justify what Bo did. They are still married! I really, really dislike adultery storylines.

I know I shouldn't enjoy Victor because he really is acting like a grumpy old man who hates women, but he's just so funny and entertaining that I love him anyway. And I really enjoy him plotting with Vivian. I'm all for their revenge against Carly--I'm not a fan of hers this time around. Actually, I don't think I liked her the first time either.

Highlight of the day was the Horton scenes. Very sad but they are doing a good job. Suzanne Rogers is marvelous, as always, and I love, love, love seeing Doug and Julie. I didn't mind the scene with Melanie, and I liked when Maggie told Melanie that she made Mickey laugh...I can believe that.

The Philip/Vivian scenes were great. I love how creepy and weird Vivian gets. As Keith noted, today's scenes were a critical beat. We saw a special moment of bonding with them and Philip seemed to soften toward her. It did come off like Vivian and Lawrence. i look forward to more of this.
Vivian and Lawrence had such a creepy, almost incestuous relationship, LoL. She doesn't seem incestuous with Phillip to me, but I do love the way she keeps clawing at him for attention.

I would just love if Philip begins to accept Vivian as his psuedo-mother just to piss Kate off. It would be great to see those two go at it, and Philip defend Vivian.

And ugh I hate that cheesy saxophone music they use in sex scenes. I had enough of it during the Danloe mess.

No but the relationship reminds me of her's with Lawrence. Lawrence wasn't her son but she treated him like one (with the incestuous vibe as well LOL). Same goes for Philip. He's not really her son but she considers him one only she has more of a reason because she gave birth to him. It's hilarious how she deals with him. It's like her relationship with Lawrence only much more eccentric and over the top but in a good way.

Molly Burnett was terrible today. She kept doing some weird half fake-cry/half smirk that was really annoying, and I'm sorry, but I just don't buy that Melanie thought of Mickey as her father. Her scenes with Maggie really annoyed me.

However, I'm glad to see that we get a Lucas/Maggie scene tomorrow.

Bo and Carly having sex was hot.

Victor and Brady = ZZZ.

Phillip and Vivian were great. I love that she is finally managing to win him over.
