This Mitch story? So far it feels gross. I hope they go somewhere to make up for it. |

At least it was played seriously today. Let's hope they stop going the camp route because RC is absolutely horrible whenever he attempts to do so. |

Yeah the Mitch stuff is weird and creepy. But the way the show ended today was perfect...Brody coming into the room right at the end was AWESOME! I actually think it was better they ended it that way today instead of waiting till tomorrow for Brody to come in. Can't wait to see tomorrow. |

I agree Tammy, I actually thought they were going to show Mitch and Jessica kiss. :puke: Thank god Brody came in, or else it would have grossed me out more than it already had. |

I am really enjoying John and Natalie. And I hate Natalie...lol She comes alive when she is with him. There's a fire...a spark between them when they are together. With Jared, she was so boring...plus he gave her that stupid nickname! Please Jared just go into the damn light already. Mitch has always been one sick twisted S.O.B. Him having sex with his daughter doesn't shock me. Gross? Hell yeah. But he gives good drama. Mitch coming back for a few months has been awesome for Llanview. He has stirred up these peoples lives and changed them forever. Something Carlo and Spencer and Tico could never do. He is still the best bad guy the show has had in 40 years. I'll miss him when he goes away again. Gross? Hell yeah. OLTL has done a "bang-up" job with this car wreck/snow storm stuff. I'm loving the look of it. The view outside of Viki's kitchen window is gorgeous. All the snow does look pretty real. Dorian and Mel are so great together. I wish they would reverse his death. But he needs to think again about working so hard to save he soul. That diva bitch is so going to hell when she dies...lol. Charlie being broken up over Jared...who was only around for 2 years...YAWN. Do I see a future Clint/Viki/Charlie/Dorian love story entanglement in the works? LUVS IT! |

That was a neat twist having Fish shoot Nurse Charles. The way they made it look like Jessica was going to take the gun and shoot and then you just hear a gunshot and see that it was Fish...fantastic moment! I'm so sick of the show tossing Starr, Cole, Todd, and sometimes Tea into shows where they aren't needed. I was ok with it when Starr and Cole were tied in with Marty and when Todd was with Vicky but the stuff at Starr and Cole's place was so not needed today. This kind of junk sticks out. |

I actually think it's leading somewhere. After Mitch is doing terrorizing the Buchanans/Lords, I think he's going to turn his attention onto the Mannings/Cramers. We already know that the Cramer women are coming back and are going to be dangerously tied to Mitch. I expect Mitch to have plans for Todd and his children as well, including Dani. That's why Todd/Tea's presence in this storyline so far aren't that jarring for me. Yes, it doesn't seem like they have a place, but if the writers are inserting them in so they can easily transition to the next phase of the storyline, then it works. Which is what writers are SUPPOSED to do. |

So, seeing Todd/Tea love-making sessions in the midst of everything last week is to set up stuff for down the road? I don't think so. It's jarring. I was fine with last week's Starr and Cole scenes because they were tied to Marty, who was tied in with the John aspect of all this. I was fine with Todd, Starr, and Cole this week until they left Viki's. It's just been happening way too much and well before this situation with Mitch to be chalked up to "setting up something later." If it were, we would hearing hints of where it may be headed. Instead, it's all about whether Todd and Tea are back on track and Dani. If we got some sense of all this being connected, then it would be fine. That hasn't happened. Yes, Starr and Hope are tied to the Mitch angle because the Cramer women are in danger but that hasn't been the focus at all so I can't see saying that all this is part of the buildup. Even the way the scenes are tossed in as weird. There is no transition at all. Last week, we went right from Todd and Tea lovemaking to the action with Mitch and Llatano Mountain. Today, we get scenes of Starr/Todd here and there and the same thing. It's jarring and unnecessary unless they make it tie in with what else is going on. |

At first, I did think that those scenes were out of place. I wondered, like everyone else, why are Todd and Tea making love in an episode that has nothing to do with them. No one else in the episode, really had anything to do with their story. Blair wasn't on. Dani wasn't on. Star and Cole weren't on. I didn't understand it and I thought it was just a filler pack of scenes and the show threw them in there to take time as the other stories weren't enough for a whole episode. I thought that would be the end of it. But that wasn't the case. Over the next few days, Todd and Tea continued to be involved in the episodes that followed. That's when I started to realize that they're probably being shown so that the writers can set things up for the next transition of the storyline, where Mitche refocuses his attention to the Mannings/Cramers. I'm not sure what you're referring to with them being on when they didn't belong before the scene I talked about above, because they were actually involved in their own ending of the story before this stuff started happening. So they weren't just on for just being on back then. I don't think we need hints either. Not with OLTL's type of writing. With DAYS, I ask for hints because things happen one moment and then something entirely different happens the next. There really is no transitioning with DAYS. However, with OLTL, the transitioning is much more apparent and we don't need to actually be given hints as to Mitch saying that the Mannings/Cramers are next. There was a scene between Mitch and Todd, along with Mitch and Star and Cole, when Mitch first came back to Llanview that made you think that Mitch has plans for Todd's family. I bet those plans are going to come into play once he's done with Viki's family. Yes, there was mention of Mitch taking an interest in Dani and Tea during the scenes I pointed out above, right after Mitch came to Llanview and shared scenes with Todd and the with Starr and Cole. He has plans for Todd's family. They just haven't happened yet beacuse is attention is elsewhere at the moment. I don't need Todd and Tea to be talking about Mitch and then the scene changing to Mitch at Llantano Mountain for the scenes to make sense. Isn't that babying and giving too much to the viewers, which you say DAYS shouldn't have to do? I actually think DAYS does need to do it because they don't know how to subtly do otherwise like OLTL does. |

Those are some good points, Drew, but I still think it's not needed. I realize OLTL is not Days and that hints aren't necessary but the way Ron tells umbrella stories and the way they culminate...I just don't like it. It takes you completely out of the action. There are way too many characters involved in the proceedings to just toss in scenes left and right. The better thing to do would've been to have stuck Todd and Tea in one episode focusing on their love-making. Have it be the episode with Starr and Cole worried about Marty being in jail. Then, have Tea go with Todd to check on Viki. Starr and Cole were headed there with Marty so then you have them all under one roof. If your going to play them, use them there. Then we don't have to keep shifting all over the place. Have them address all that there alongside Viki, Clint, and Kim and then shift from those scenes to the mountain action. Seeing Todd and Tea fuck (and I LOVE Todd and Tea) for two episodes and having Todd and Starr in her apartment talking about Dani can wait. It takes you right out of the intensity of the episode. OLTL always has a tendency to do this. I don't blame Ron. The man is a fantastic storyteller. The show is just edited poorly together. The quick cuts are annoying. Just when you get into a scene, you jump elsewhere. I mean, some scenes last two seconds. I can't believe this show doesn't do better in the ratings for that reason alone because the show hardly ever gives you time to get bored with a scene and there is so much moving around. Maybe if they edited things better it wouldn't be as bad and the flow wouldn't be disrupted. Edited by PhoenixRising05, Feb 9 2010, 04:32 PM.

Drew, the point is Todd and Téa are insufferable and that Todd is a cancer to every scene he is in and needs to die. LOL |

I agree the instance you brought up would've been better, but I don't think it was needed. I get what they're trying to do, so I don't see the problem there. Others may. |
