No, because the 2005 series is an entierly new production and format. Other than keeping the numbering of the Doctors in line with the original series, its basically its own show. |

Donna was great. She basically elivated the crappy stories of that year (basically everything that wasnt the Ood, Library or finale arcs) |

Planet of the Ood was the best of the season IMO Question and please don't go into too much detail because I don't want to be spoiled much. Does the divine Alex Kingston (River Song) come round again? |

I caught both the special and Doctor Who at the Proms. Enjoyed both and the previews for the new season looked great.

Spearhead from Space is probably in my Top 10 Who serials now. Well written and suspenseful and I really liked Pertwee as the Doctor. I bet this terrifed kids in 1970. Hell, I'm 32 and the mannequins still creeped me out |

Why do I seem to be the only person that thought 'The Lodger' was the weakest episode of season 5? Sure, it was fun and had it's moments but overall it just wasn't as good at the rest  |

Terror of the Autons, which hopefully we'll be seeing soon (and is LONG overdue), was even more so. It was infamous for making the children of england afraid of their teddies. |

These could possibly change since I am currently still watching the classics 1. Genesis of the Daleks 2. Tomb of the Cybermen 3. The Talons of Weng-Chiang 4. The Caves of Androzani 5. The Brain of Morbius 6. The Mind Robber 7. Earthshock 8. Spearhead From Space 9. The Ark in Space 10. An Unearthly Child - Just because it started the whole series |

I actually hate Unearthly Child, other than the first part. And Mind Robber is pretty meh for me as well. It had some good ideas, but the I think the last minute addition of a 5th episode (The Dominators was supposed to be a 6 parter, but wasn't working out so the episode was reallocated) sunk it. It just dragged on too long. Since you're starting down the road of the 3rd Doctor - you gotta check out Inferno. Arguably the best of his run. The Silurians is also a classic. Alot of his best stories still havent been released yet - he suffered badly from the junking policy as well. Every episode exists, but many only in black / white and then recolourized using the signal from old Betamax tapes of off-air PBS and TVO recordings. (The extras on this are facinating, for a technology junkie like myself) |
