LOL, whatever.

I was watching some of it, it wasnt malicious and it wasnt heckling. Good luck getting a mass group of strangers to pull that off. It was chearing. It may not be approriate to the sport, but thats where the people running the venue should be intervening and telling people to be quiet. It wasnt a case of Canadians trying to make the bitch lose.

and I have heard the cow bell on the canadian figure skating feed. Its not like they group the fans by who they're supporting so good luck knowing who is doing what, so are we going to catch blame for that too?!

Virtue and Moir were amazing lastnight. So glad they took home the gold medal. The Americans that got silver were also amazing.

Someone STILL bitter?

In Plushenko's mind (and website), he's the platinum medal winner
By Maggie Hendricks

Evgeni Plushenko's long, delusional journey continues. Just days after the silver medalist for men's figure skating denied that Evan Lysacek is the true champion of men's figure skating, he has apparently awarded himself a platinum medal. From his official website: It reads, "Silver of Salt Lake, Gold of Torino, Platinum of Vancouver." What's impressive here is that not only has Plushenko's website team fabricated an Olympic medal, it designed a platinum medal, too. Bravo. That's commitment to a delusion.

Previously, Plushenko ripped gold medalist Evan Lysacek for not attempting a quad jump, and even Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin weighed in on the controversy, saying Plushenko "performed the most accomplished program on the Vancouver ice." Lysacek responded to the criticism with class, but Plushenko clearly hasn't come to grips with the fact that the gold medal eluded him in Vancouver.

GET OVER IT ALREADY,LORDY!

Enjoyment of the Ladies Figure Skating tonight is marred by having to listen to more "commentating" by that twit Sandra Bezic.

I did start crying! That was a very emotional moment and, dare I say, one of *the* moments of these entire Olympics. I might even say that it was one of those moments that will go down in history as one of those all-time great Olympic moments. Of course, every single one of those "Thanks, Mom" P&G commercials makes me cry, so I probably just a sentamental old sap.

I feel so bad for that disqualified Dutch speed skater!
I caught bits and pieces of that live earlier. It was on the TVs in the bar at work, but the sound wasn't up. I didn't know exactly what had happened, but I could tell it was some kind of high drama. Once I got home, I saw on the prime time report about what had happened. I think Costas hit it right on the head when he suggested that coach enroll in the Dutch witness protection program quickly.

Just watched the Dutch speed skater and you can tell he was hesitating about changing lanes. Just amazing what the coach did!

I'm so glad for the Nordic Combined USA team who won the Silver for their efforts.

I haven't watched the whole figure skating yet, but I loved Nagasu's beautiful spins! Give me a beautiful spin over jumps any day!

Yeah I caught the replay too. Such a shame, he set a speed record and everything! 4 seconds faster than the gold "winner" .... in speed skating that's a crazy difference!

The US just got totally screwed by that goal not being allowed. It was clearly across the line.

Tell me about it! :frustration:

At least the US wound up winning!

Can't wait for tomorrow's gold medal match in Women's Hockey, US vs Canada. It will be the first time to ever watch women play hockey.

I haven't watched this much hockey since the first year the Nashville Predators made the playoffs.
