I also watched and it was a physical game, but Canada clearly had the defense tonight! Congrats Canada. |

Such a wonderful night for figure skating. I was happy with the results except that I think Rachel Flatt should've been marked higher, IMO. |

I don't care much for Flatt but she was really underscored. I love that other American. She was so darn sweet. So happy Rochette won the bronze. |

I think she should have too. Her scoring sucked and I think that had a bit to do with having to skate first. |

She should've gotten a little higher but the girl is just never ever going to medal on the world stage with her looks and weight actually being normal rather than her being pretty and super svelte like all the other girls. Maybe that's mean to point out, but it's the truth. It's unfortunate that she is so technically good but just doesn't have that extra artistry that will ever get her further. Mirai was amazing though and I hope she can bring in a medal in Sochi. This was probably one of the most amazingly deep women's competitions I can remember with almost everyone bringing their A game. |

Oh jeez, there's some trouble brewing over the canadian womens hockey team possibly losing their gold medal win for drinking champaign and smoking cigars publically during celebrations of their win. |

^The IOC is also threatening to eliminate Women's Hockey if other countries don't improve. |

Both honestly are crap. So they drank at the venue. Nothing was done with the skeleton Gold medalist that paraded through whistler in his suit with a pitcher of beer after his win. These people have every reason in the world to be happy and celebrating. And its OUR venue, with all the spectators already gone - who do they think is being offended? As for eliminating the sport .... should we eliminate skiing because the northern european countries always win it? Or Snowboarding cause the US always dominates? Canadian hockey team issued an apology but IOC stills hasnt said what's it going to do. They showed come of the pics and supposedly one concern was that some of the players are underage. I doubt they'll take away their medals. This happened to USA in Torino and they had to leave the Olympics. Maybe they'll tell them that they can't walk in the Closing Ceremonies? |

its pretty stupid. The "underage" girl is 18 and from Alberta, where 18 is the legal limit. So yes, its 19 in BC, its not like they were pouring booze down some innocent girl's throat who's never drank before. |

I highly highly highly doubt anyone will get their medals stripped for this but if the IOC already is considering whether to eliminate women's hockey from the games due to the lack of competitiveness outside North America, the Canadian women definitely have given the IOC a huge gift with their antics on the ice which while maybe understandable were still kind of embarrassing. Everyone expects athletes to celebrate their wins, maybe with beers and cigars, but you typically expect that either in the locker room or later on at the Olympic village. But in their uniforms with the medals around their necks and on the ice itself? It just looks a bit tacky. And I would feel that way if the US women did the same thing. Given that the IOC recently eliminated women's softball from the summer games where only the US and Japan were competitive, I could see them making the same call for women's hockey in the next couple games unfortunately. |

Man what is with the weather at Whistler for these alpine events? It sucks that the ladies slalom skiers today don't seem to have any chance unless they had the luck to be in the first 10 racers to go down the hill because the conditions are so bad and the course is deteriorating so quickly. I wonder if they're gonna have to put the run 2 off for a second day like they did the giant slalom. |
