How the hell did that Russian figure skating pair score so high after wiping out so badly?

I think so. Is that when they had that big judging controversy?

Yes. When the Canadians skated a flawless program and got silver, when the Russians fucked up several times and got gold. Untill that french judge ratted people out and it was corrected.

I just dont get figure skating. I'm watching this, and this doesnt seem good at all. Boring. And alot of these pairs are barely interacting with each other.

I'm wondering the same about the Canadian pair that just skated.

It's more of an artistry than a "game." I agree, it's pretty boring. But there's nothing else on, so I'm watching, LoL.

The luge is worst of all. Zzzzz...

The female commentator Sandra Bezic drives me crazy, I wish they had gotten Peggy Flemming or someone else.

Canada has Sale and Pelletier commentating. (The "Canadians" from the 2002 scandal)

I cant stand to watch NBC's coverage. They have no respect for the events or whats on screen, just for the need to justify their paycheques by blabbing over every single moment with unimportant trivia. I couldnt believe how much they blabbed over the opening ceremonies, where the canadian coverage was mostly just the in stadium announcers and not the people in the CTV booth.

I'm big on turning off the sound and reading captions when needed. That way I don't have to listen to the announcers. It is one thing when there is music involved, but I don't need sports commentary for no good reason like during ski jumping.

Whenever I hear Send in the Clowns now, I think of Sally Spectra.

Those events I dont mind it. I cant stand it though when there is music involved, or when its some kind of performance - like those at the opening ceremonies. Like, just let me watch the skating the same way the people in the rink are. Nitpick when they're done and waiting for their results.

Aww, Alexandre Bilodeau is so awesome. The whole story with him and his disabled older brother is very inspiring.

I loved watching his brother cheer him on. He seemed so happy and proud.
