Classic Clip:[/b] Lucas shoots Franco to protect Kate during Franco & Sami's wedding. Franco ends up dying so Kate and Lucas set Sami up for murder. (1998)
The first time I saw this I was so upset but this is truly one of the show's best storylines.

Okay, I was on a show break during the Phelle wedding so that was the first time I had seen it. Where was Marlena? Where was Victor? Why was John hurt? Why did Sami have MegaBitchFace on throughout? And *sniff* Alice--and Celeste, too (miss her). Who was the man sitting with Jennifer? And now that I think of it, I saw Hope but I don't remember seeing Bo. What was going on?
Marlena and Victor were along with Roman, Caroline, Jack and Cassie held captive by Andre DiMera in a castle in Europe. John was injured during a fight with Andre a couple of months earlier. The man sitting with Jennifer was Patrick Lockhart, Mimi's brother.

So they still hadn't made it home yet after being "killed" and living in Melaswen? I tuned out during this time, so I don't remember.
Nope, when they escaped Melaswen they were caught in a tsunami. Most of them were resuced by the coast guard but Marlena, Roman, Caroline, Victor, Jack and Cassie were picked up by a japanese fishing boat that turned out to be working for the DiMeras. So they were taken to the castle in Europe. Several months later, they escaped and the castle burned to the ground. But Victor and Caroline were recaptured and taken to yet another island where they spent some months until they were rescued by Bo, Hope, Billie and Patrick. And between the castle in Europe and the tropical island, Andre found some time to go to Iraq where he held Philip, Shawn, Rex, Lucas and Brady captive. 2004-2005 was such a mess, LOL.

When was the last time St. Luke's church was used? I really hate that we have weddings & funerals in living rooms.
Last summer.

I also enjoyed Abe and Lexie's little scene. Classic Days to give some couples throwaway scenes like that.
I have to disagree with this. To me it just feels like TPTB's way of saying "Hey look, Abe and Lexie are on, we aren't ignoring them" which of course is bullshit.

I get what you're saying when it comes to scenes like that with couples at events like wedding and partys. But since Abe and Lexie are backburned year after year scenes like that only piss me off more.

Well, now that you brought it up, it angers me a bit too LOL.

I was able to enjoy it much more when I wasn't thinking about it. See this is why message boards can drastically affect your viewing  .

Speaking on Youtube reviews (and this is not just about Days but any TV show), as entertaining as they can, they annoy me. It all goes back to what I've been saying about message boards. People think more as critics now then fans. The internet has really changed the game. Fans can now act like unpaid critics and, as a result, the idea of being a fan takes a hit. This isn't me saying people can have a voice and not express dislike but it just seems like sometimes more people watch now to criticize then actually just enjoy what they are watching. Not just Days but any show. It just bothers me because while I do see some people having fun with it and balancing it, I see others taking it way too seriously and acting like they are auditioning for their own critique show/column/etc. It just really bugs me.
That's true and I also think that's the reason why LOST is one of the most popular shows. Fans study every little detail and TPTB at LOST knows it. They don't treat their audience like five year olds.

I agree with you on Youtube reviews, most of them are just annoying with random people like the one posted earlier in this thread. But I like some, for example The Angry Video Game Nerd :D

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep"Hey look, Abe and Lexie are on, we aren't ignoring them"
I thought the only reason why they put that short scene in was to introduce the "new" place and make viewers understand itīs on the roof so when Vivian later takes Mel there they are not confused what she is trying to do. Itīs the old writers rule that all things needed for plot should be first introduced some small and natural way so when they later become important viewers already understands whatīt going on.
I didn't watch the episode yesterday because it was on at the same time as OLTL due to the Olympics, but from what I've heard about the scene, I think this is all that it was. It wasn't about Abe and Lexie. It wasn't about givine a couple that hasn't been on in a while some airtime. It wasn't about giving the fans a treat. All that it served was to say something about the rooftop patio. Anyone could've been in that scene. It just happend to be Abe and Lexie.
I guess you're right. It wasn't about Abe and Lexie. Nothing is about Abe and Lexie. That's the problem really.

I think another thing that hurts is how far ahead soaps tape now. Sometimes they're even a couple of months ahead! Back in the olden days, soaps were a week ahead (sometimes 2 or 3 if they were leading up to the holiday break). This led to much less chance of detailed story info to get out and storylines, etc. could be changed much easier based on fan reaction. Now, with a couple of months of stories in the can, you've got a couple of months of opportunity for important story details to get out (months in advance) and no opportunity to change a story if viewer reaction is negative and ratings take a nose dive. By the time the captain can get the ship turned away from the iceberg, it's too late because it's already sunk and under water.
I'm glad they aren't doing that. I don't want them to make last minute rewrites and drop stories left and right just because of fan backlash.

Bryan said he would never work for this show again. He said if they ever need or want Lucas again in any capacity they will have to recast him. I am hopeful that time may heal wounds and that could change, at least for the Alice episodes, but it doesn't seem like it now. He is over it, and I can't say that I blame him.
When did he say that?

Ali does tend to excel at "angry crying." She's at her best when she just lets loose and lashes out. Good stuff with her, EJ, and Rafe today.
No. She sucks at playing a screamin' demon and a scheming bitch, she sucks at everything else.
Fixed :)

JMO. NB, GG, and CC are all weak when it comes to showing any emotion. CC looks pissed off and in another world. NB is not far behind her. All three of them are boring as crap and seem to have an attitude problem that they are better than anyone else. All three of them need to stick with the Venice web series and stop taking up air time that could be used for characters more worthy.

I have to agree with those praising Nadia. She was actually good for the first time since, I don't know, 2002 or something.

I'm going to have to dig out YouTube clips of the Ghoul Girl era. I will have to admit....the horror of the whole Chloe-with-scar "My face! My face! I can't let Brady see my face!" and the miraculous CureoftheScar still rings with me to this day. If Nadia can give me some acting brain bleach to wipe those images away and cut out the VA-VA-VOOOOMM boob and hair explosion, I think I could really like her. In all honesty, based on what I've read, she seems like she's probably a very sweet girl IRL.
You started to watch Days again in 2005? Oh, bad time to return, lol.

I don't get all the Arianne hate, I really like her. It's Brady that is boring. But I never watched Passions so for me LH she is Arianna and EM is Brady. I don't see them as their Passions characters.
