These are by far the worst Oscars ever.... not only boring, but as others have mentioned, the camera angles, the stage, THE HOSTS.... all garbage.

The Hurt Locker is sweeping, which is one positive. Anything but the overhyped Avatar.

LOL yeah good description. I was a little pissed though Hurt Locker beat Inglourious Basterds for Screenplay. Tarantino was robbed.

They won Art Direction, which to me is probably the one Avatar least deserves among the tech categories. 95% of the film was digital.

When its all said and done I hope that and Visual Effects is all its left with. It was a technical marvel.... that is all.

After all... tomorrow is another day!

That horror montage was so ridiculous. Especially in the opening they claimed horror hasn't been recognized since the Exorcist and then went on to show clips from things like Silence of the Lambs which won Oscars more recently than The Exorcist.

I really enjoyed The Hurt Locker. I thought it was a refreshing take on the overdone war angle in movies. It was suspenseful in the way iy was shot and written. Very simplistic, but IMO that's what made it so effective. For those reasons I think it is so superior to Avatar because of what Bigelow was able to accomplish with such a small budget.... it would have been really hard for Cameron to fail with his what, $400 budget?
