Ellen isn't an NBC. It's syndicated.
Is it produced by NBC Universal? That may have been what he meant.
I thought it was produced by NBC. It was filmed at NBC studios when I went to the taping a few years ago.
Ellen is produced by Warner Bros Television, not NBC - Universal. Taping facilities are leased by all production companies. It's already been rumored that Conan OBrien will use his same set on the NBC Universal lot for his not-yet-announced FOX late night program later in 2010. Empty and abandoned studio sets do not make $$$$.
