'Big Brother 12's' Rachel: 'I'm a hustler! I am going to hustle the 'Big Brother' house guests' Posted Image VIP Vegas cocktail waitress/chemistry graduate student Rachel Reilly is one of the "Big Brother 12" hamsters. Find out what her hustler strategy is for the game and more! When asked why she wants to go on "Big Brother," Rachel says, "I love 'Big Brother" I am probably one of the No. 1 fans ... I'm really competitive and I have so many facets to my personality and I watch the show and I'm like, 'I could be that person, I know what I would do!' and I think I could win." So who is her fave competitor of all time? "Janelle. I love her! She's cute, she's fun, she's super-competitive ... You're going to see a lot of Rachel trying to be Janelle." Conversely, Chima gets the "least favorite" title. "I really don't like Chima because she's so whiny! And also, c'mon girl, this is the opportunity of a lifetime! ... I couldn't imagine not being grateful for being on the show. I can't even imagine that I've made it this far." And what about Rachel's strategy in the house? "I am from Las Vegas and I am a HUSTLER! I am going to hustle the 'Big Brother' house guests ... People look at me and they just see a hot girl with big boobs ... when actually I'm a chemist, so I think I'm going to surprise everyone in the 'Big Brother' house with how smart I am." 'Big Brother 12's' Ragan on his favorite player, who he'll clash with in the house Posted Image Meet Ragan Fox, one of the newest contestants on "Big Brother 12." He is a 34-year-old gay college professor from West Hollywood and is a self-described "student of the game." "I have been a big fan of the show for the last decade. I started watching Season 2 and ever since ... I haven't missed a single episode," Ragan tells us, as to why he wanted to do the show. "I'm also a very competitive person." When asked who his favorite "Big Brother" player is, Ragan laughs at his "cliche gay" choice. "My all-time favorite player is Janelle, hands down ... I think one of the reasons she's very compelling in the context of the show is because she's somebody you can tell who just genuinely, earnestly loved playing the game ... I know when I'm watching the show I really get frustrated when people come on the show and are given such an awesome opportunity and they complain and whine." Ragan also hilariously tells us why he didn't like Mike "Boogie" or Chima as contestants and what types of people he is going to clash with in the house. Watch and see! http://www.zap2it.com/news/zap-big-brother-story,0,2431835.story Julie Chen is mother to 'Big Brother' again By Jay Bobbin, Zap2It | July 1, 2010 In its own way, first-time motherhood has helped Julie Chen get ready to oversee the "Big Brother" house again. Another group of strangers-turned-housemates enters -- and begins the competition that will leave one player a $1 million winner at summer's end -- as the 12th round of the unscripted, three-times-weekly CBS series begins Thursday, July 8. "Before this season was so close, I was thinking, 'How am I going to swing it all?' " reflects "Big Brother" host Chen, now a parent to 9-month-old Charlie with husband Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of CBS. "It was good that I went back to 'The Early Show' (which Chen co-hosts weekdays on CBS) when I did, because that got me back in my mode." Though "Big Brother" has three airings per week, Chen appears only on the one that is live (in the Eastern half of the country) and sends a "houseguest" packing. She interviews the person who's just been bumped, and she admits that "doesn't get easier. It all depends on the personalities in the house." "I don't know if anybody goes in to win, to be honest. They probably would love to, but I think they go in to make a name for themselves. I believe the most difficult part for them isn't, 'There goes my shot at a million dollars'; it's, 'Gee, I thought I had some friends in there.' It can be a little bit humiliating, depending on the vote count (that gets someone evicted)." Other factors keep Chen sensitized, too: "Even if the person was a 'villain' in the house and America hated them, I have to think, 'Here is a human being.' You have to ask the right questions but also be respectful, because you don't know what it's like to walk in their shoes." That straightforward approach has earned Chen the nickname "Chenbot" (a la "robot"), which she takes with good humor -- while knowing just what she's doing. "I never wanted people at home to know how I felt about any of the contestants," she explains. "If I can't stand someone being my own person, I like them being the host of the show, because they make the show more interesting to watch." |

Yes - so there are two basic rules of "keeping kosher". 1) Cannot mix meat and dairy products, whether in the same food (cheeseburger) or in the same meal (chicken and buttered roll). This extends to not even using the same utensils, dishes and pans for meat and dairy. 2) Can only eat certain meat (no shellfish or pork), and the meat that you can eat (usually beef or chicken) has to be slaughtered under the supervision of a Rabbi. Almost all fish is ok. Because of these two rules, all packaged food sold in the supermarket has to have a kosher supervision symbol on it. The two most common symbols are a U in a circle or a K in a circle. This ensures that the above rules were followed in the preparation of the food. Fruits and vegetables are exempt from this, though like if they're cut, the knife to cut them can't have been used to cut something nonkosher (like bacon). My guess is he'll have a separate set of dishes (I think he actually might have said this already), and he'll have to have supervised food and separate meat. (They could buy kosher meat for everyone, but it's a bit more expensive, though readily available in the LA area.) He'll also need his own pots and pans and a separate microwave or burner (like camping stores sell individual burners, maybe they'll give him that.) The interesting thing to me is that people who keep kosher among others who don't (like someone in a college dorm for example) are really supposed to keep their dishes locked up, in case someone makes a mistake or just doesn't know about the kosher dishes. Also I hate to say it but this is BB, and I wouldn't put it past someone to intentionally use his stuff for their own food. I wonder if they'll give him a locked cabinet in the kitchen or something like that. Or a simpler solution is just to always use paper plates lol. |

$1 million? That's a $500,000 spike from the usual prize. I wonder if that's a typo? If I recall, the CBS press release said the prize is still $500,000. |

From Annie's SuperPass interview... Posted Image - She's been in a relationship with a woman for the last two years and she has no plans for a showmance in the house. However, she's bisexual, so she's going to flirt with the guys. "I will definitely flirt but I won't touch. I promise. I will not do anything wrong or anything out of character, but yes, I'll flirt. Men are too easy not to." - She has no strategy for winning the game. "My strategy is to not have a strategy. If I go in with a set plan and the people are different than I think, I'll freak out and self-sabotage. I'm going to meet [the other houseguests] and go from there. I'm just going to feel it out and play each week. The show is about adapting and I'm the type of person who can adapt." - If she wins the show, she plans to donate money to cancer research. Her mother is a breast cancer survivor. She says one of the most traumatic moments of her life was when she had to shave her mother's head at age 16. - She fully expects to win the $500,000 prize. "You have to be confident in yourself. Why even bother going into the house if you don't think you can win?" - Her biggest fear is having to live in the house with a bunch of angry, racist, prejudice people. "I get very riled up over race issues and prejudice issues. I'm assuming the types of people I don't want to be there will be there, so I'm mentally preparing for that now. I'm really gonna have to tone down my personality to deal with those types of people." - She's not a fan of bitter juries. "If somebody gets a lie told to them, they take it so personally. It's a game, people are gonna lie to you. I hate in the end when people will vote for their friend [instead of the better player]. If you lied to me and stabbed me in the back, you should win. Whether or not I like you, I'm gonna vote for who was the smartest player -- not for my friend." - Her favorites from past seasons are Evel Dick, Crazy James and Renny. Her least favorite is Jerry. - She is fiercely competitive. "I'm very competitive. I do not like losing. I do not like giving up. I don't like making deals and dropping. I want to do the best I can in every challenge." |

This was never on the show, but I think I remember from the feeds there being a big scandal about Ivette taking Kaysar's halal meat during BB6? I can't remember if it was actually shown that she did or she just talked about it, but I don't think Kaysar ever found out about it and that was one of the things that people bitched about the nerd herd the most. Does anyone else remember this? Also, I'm not sure if you already answered this or I forgot to ask, but I was wondering Ellie about what you said about not being able to "work" on the Sabbath and Andrew saying he wouldn't do comps. But given that he gets paid a weekly stipend and will be filming and taping a TV show during that day anyway, isn't he already breaking the rules by working? |
