Against my better judgement, I'm about to buy the feeds, too. I'll probably have time for them once in a while ... I can only hope they don't take away all my sleep.

I'm thinking of getting the feeds this year... should I? Is it worth it, or enough to read the feed logs?

I wouldn't spend the money on them, myself. Between Kenny's exquisite recaps and the fact that most of the good stuff ends up on YouTube, anyway, you shouldn't miss much, if anything, without paying for the feeds. Plus, there are people who stream the feeds online (albeit with crappy quality) for free, LoL.

Ok thanks for the advice! Will probably skip it then - and I love Kenny's recaps! I think I'm as addicted to those as much as some people are addicted to the feeds, lol.

After all... tomorrow is another day!

Ellie, it depends on how much free time you have to devote to them and if you want to be a zombie and stay up all night watching them (because it's at night when all the shit goes down).

I sign up for them every year, but have canceled them mid-season if I didn't find that group particularly entertaining for the feeds.

But for the first week or two of the show, the feeds, for me, is a MUST because there are so many things happening at once and so many houseguests that no one can keep track of all of them, no matter how good they are with feed recaps. Plus, there's free trials out there for the first couple weeks that you can sign up for, and if you aren't feeling it or just don't have the time to devote to it, you can always cancel.

For me, I don't think I would get the same voyeuristic thrill from BB if I didn't have the feeds and to solely rely on other people's recaps and YouTube clip, but I am kind of a freak so...

Kenny, BB God, I have a quesiton. I still haven't bought my feeds yet for this year so do you know what the best deal is?
The $29.99 early bird special. It lasts for three months, which should take you through the entire season and allow you to see all the post-finale interviews.

Is the early bird special through BBQ or something else?

He may be a great player, but I think he is very overrated in terms of how attractive he was. Always primping in the mirror and whatnot, obsessed with his appearance, and I really dislike his hair....it's huge (just like his ego)!

(By the way, I think you posted this in the wrong thread, LoL)

At the very least, I would sign up for the early bird special. It's $29.99 for three months. With that, you get three days for free and then you can cancel if you can't afford it or if you don't have enough free time to watch them. Don't sign up until Wednesday if you plan to do that though -- that way you can see as much of the feeds as possible before canceling.

When the feeds come on Thursday, the HG's will have already been in the house for almost a week. Nominations will have already been made and they will have likely already played for POV. With the house so full and everything jumping into rapid fast-forward mode, even the best transcriber would have trouble trying to make sense of every conversation that's happening on every camera. It's really best to just see it for yourself, IMO. The CBS episodes in particular don't even come close to showing you the full scope of what's really going on in the house -- as I'm sure you learned last season just by reading the recaps.

Another benefit to having the feeds... endurance competitions. Those are always fun to watch. I also love having the feeds during the big house fights. Reading recaps of them just isn't the same as watching them play out LIVE with your own eyes when the house is exploding and everyone is shouting over each other talking a thousand miles a minute. It's impossible to capture all of that in a live feed transcription. Things always get left out.

Depending on your time zone, you might not lose too much sleep. East coasters are the ones who have it rough, LoL.

The biggest reason NOT to get the feeds is the downtime. That's especially true for east coasters. By the time the HG's wake up, it's 2 or 3 PM in the eastern time zone and then they spend a few hours showering, tanning, eating, etc. It's not until later in the evening that the good stuff usually goes down. That's not always the case though.

I don't think you have to sign up through any site.

I signed up through BBDish but you should be able to just click this link and see the Early Bird offer.

http://www.real.com/superpass/bigbrother

Remember... you don't have to download RealPlayer to see the feeds this year since they're web-based. You can watch them on the SuperPass website, but I'm probably going to use the feed player program that Blistering at Sucks created. (BBReloader and BBViewer can't be used this year, apparently -- which sucks, because I LOVED BBViewer.)

Thanks so much for all the info Kenny and IMA! I think maybe I'll do the 3 days free then (and wait to sign up), and see how I like it. I do remember being annoyed last year that I couldn't watch the endurance comps, good point Kenny.

If I don't sign up right away, I can sign up in the middle of the season, right? That might be another option.

Yeah, but the three month early bird special expires after Wednesday so you'll have to pay full price ($14.99/month.)

Personally, I can't imagine watching the show without the feeds. I used to be like you and just follow the show and read recaps at Jokers, etc., but now I can't imagine not having the feeds. It just wouldn't be the same. It's a whole different experience seeing it all play out live with your own eyes, and as much as you enjoy reading the recaps, I don't think it's something you would pay for and then never use. You would definitely get your money's worth, IMO.

Then again, the season hasn't begun yet so you don't really know how much you're going to like this cast. You might end up hating them all by week two so the early bird special might be a bit of a gamble. But it's a gamble for me too, LoL.

Ohhh, forgot about the earlybird special. Ok, I think I'll do it! :) Or maybe I'll just do month by month (even though it costs more) in case I find myself not having time or not being interested. Either way - I think I'll try it! Thanks again!

Perhaps it's just a bad picture, but I can honestly say I don't find a single one of these people to be attractive....so there's my shallow thought for the day, LoL.

Aww, I think Andrew's a cutie! He reminds me of Dan Gheesling -- who, ironically enough, I thought was hideously ugly at first.

Brendon, Britney and Monet looks good too. Kathy looks goofy cute.

I think Andrew and Matt are cute!

I actually think Rachel has a very pretty face, but her hair is completely the wrong color for her, and her eye makeup is hideous. (lol I'm into makeup so it bugs me when women ruin their faces that way.)

BBUS is so staged. There's no way that picture was taken through the mirrors.

No. The first day in the house is always spent taking media pictures. Last season they took a bunch. There was the big group shot and they did all the "clique" shots as well. They did the same thing for BB9 as well. There was a big group shot and then various shots of just the women and just the men. There's definitely a photographer in there to take them.
