Thought this could be a fun guessing game for all of us.

What shows do you think will surprise us and be a hit? Will ANYTHING be a "hit"?

What shows will fail? Will there be any shows that flounder yet still get renewed?

NBC:

I don't see any of NBC's new shows really working at all. One of The Event and Chase might actually manage to survive a full season. UnderCovers SHOULD succeed but it probably won't. Outsourced could draw a surprising audience. Law and Order: LA will probably do OK. I don't see it pulling big numbers. Outlaw with Jimmy Smits is probably DOA unless Fridays suddenly get an audience again that's not watching CBS.

ABC:
No Ordinary Family and My Generation will probably fail. Detroit 1-8-7 has a decent shot but with Rookie Blue, does ABC really need two cop dramas? Body of Proof with Dana Delany SHOULD survive but it's on Friday's, and the show isn't on CBS so ... it's probably DOA. I think Off The Map will do decently (will probably draw numbers similar to Private Practice). Better With You has growth potential and it's in between two solid hits. The Whole Truth, I don't know much about right now so I can't predict it. Probably another fail. I hope Mr. Sunshine surprises me and it does well. I think I might watch it and like it.

ABC and NBC seem to be in the worst position so far this fall. None of the shows seem like hits and both networks seem to be trying to duplicate past success without any unique programming development that's worked in the past for them.

CBS:
Hawaii Five-O will probably do well. It could break the curse of the "remake/re-do" curse. It's got solid buzz around it. Mike & Molly and Shit My Dad Says look too generic, IMO. Relying too much on "witty" jokes without making us care. Mike and Molly could surprise us. I don't expect Shit My Dad Says to do well at all. I'll go against the grain on that. It will debut big but fade fast. Blue Bloods will probably do OK because it's on CBS and on Fridays, the only network that can draw viewers on a Friday night. Criminal Minds spin-off (can't remember the dumb name attached to it) will probably be a sleeper hit. The Defenders could go either way. It looks a little too self-indulgent and trying too hard to be the next Boston Legal. Doesn't scream hit to me but you never know.

CBS is still in the best position in the fall.

FOX

Lonestar could really go either way. My biased opinion wants it to succeed. However, I don't know if it will. Ride-Along will probably do OK when it premieres. Running Wilde and Raising Hope are going to bomb, even with Glee airing with them. I can't see any live action FOX sitcoms doing well anymore so it's hard to think these will be any different. Both have mild potential so I hope they do but I doubt it. Good Guys is already bombing in the summer so how will the fall be any different?

CW:

Nikita will probably succeed. Hellcats probably won't.

The only two I'm looking forward to are Hawaii-Five-O - love the guy from Lost and Body of Proof. None of the rest of them sound interesting to me at all. Hoping that they both do well and are interesting to watch.

My predictions

Body of Proof will be a modest hit for a Friday show.

All of FOX's shows will bomb

Mike and Molly will be the breakout hit of the season

Hawaii-Five-O will be a hit just because of it's timeslot (Castle and Chase are it's competition)

In the 10:00pm Wednesday triple header; ABC's The Whole Truth will pull modest numbers, CBS's The Defenders will be DOA and NBC's Law & Order: Los Angeles will dominate demos.

I think Hellcats will be the first to be canceled.

Also, I think Jimmy Smits drama on Fridays won't be a hit and will probably see only one season (if that!). FOX Comedies will probably all die too. The Chase on NBC will bomb too.

As for hits, I think Nikita could be a hit for CW. Hawai Five-0 will be a hit for CBS. I think LOLA will do good for NBC and I hope My Generation does well for ABC.

I think My Generation will tank because it looks freaking AWFUL and pretentious. Unfortunately, I think No Ordinary Family will tank, too, simply because of where it's at on the schedule and what it's up against.
