It's been a while since we've heard anything about HBO's highly anticipated new drama "Boardwalk Empire" but don't worry it's still coming. The series, which is headlined by Steve Buscemi features a lot of A-list talent including actors who've appeared on previous shows on the network. HBO has released a nearly 14 minute behind the scenes featurette that reveals exactly how much work goes into making this period piece. Take a look ... Boardwalk Empire is a period piece based on Nelson Johnson's book Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic City. The show takes place in Atlantic City during one of the darkest times in American history, Prohibition. That means a lot of classic 1920s rides, big cigars, and cold-blooded murder! The show chronicles the life of Nucky Johnson (played by Buscemi), the undisputed boss who ran Atlantic City for three decades. The show also stars Gretchen Mol, Dabney Coleman, and a long list of Michaels: Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road), Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man), Michael Kenneth Williams ("The Wire") and Michael Pitt (The Dreamers), as well as Kelly MacDonald (No Country for Old Men). source: Screencrave |
