I like that they take time with their stories instead of rushing them, but the last couple of years it really seems like the big ones have dragged out well past their time. The Masood drama of 2011, this secret of Max's that they've been hinting at for a year and a half. It seemed like in the past they were more willing to end a story or twist it at the proper time, now it's all about dragging them out to Christmas and New Years.

My reaction to current Y&R ...

I can't wait until Charlie Brooks (Janine) is back on-screen. The show lacks without her character, big time! Also I wouldn't mind if Eastenders took the focus off of Lauren and her mess of a life.

They have moved way too damn fast with this Sharon storyline. Bitch only met Jack 5 months ago and doing the Phil / Sharon merry go round is lame and boring.

I wonder how soon it'll be after Zainab's exit that they'll chem test Masood with Denise. LoL

It's definitely not what I was hoping for, but I can't say I totally blame them. They've got her for a year and Dean is a proven flake. Make the most of her while they can.

What should have happened was a full on Shirley/Phil/Sharon triangle. The foundation was perfect for a "Who knows Phil best?", but there's just no realistic way of putting Shirley back in his romantic orbit again after Heather's murder. (One of many reasons it never should have happened)

Do we know the details of the letter David wrote Carol or is what we learned today all they've told us?

For the love of fuck, but this show is dull. The acting's fabulous, but I have to force myself to pay attention in between mega acting scenes.

Wow is right.

I can't believe they even thought to kill her off. One of their most viable original characters? Who looks stunning for 57. She doesn't even look like she COULD be Ian's mother!

I wish they'd fix that and say Kathy's been in a coma somewhere for the last what, 10 years? Too bad these soaps aren't as keen on undoing deaths. Especially after they look badly on the Den return.

I thought the final week of Masood and Zainaib was brilliant, especially how it was intertwined with the engagement of the young couple, the potential diagnosis of Lucy and the girls finding their father with his other wife.

Kat being away from Alfie has done wonders to the character. This is the Kat I loved back in 00-05, and the one I was thrilled to hear was returning to Walford in '10. Love her friendship with Bianca!

Joey & Lauren is my favorite EE couple at the moment! They have amazing chemistry & I'm loving it. Congrats to David for winning 'best newcomer' at the NTAs at the end of january.

I can't enjoy Sharon when she's with Jack. It feels so wrong- they're insta-love relationship makes me sick.it's nowhere near as powerful as Sharon & Dennis were. That relationship had build-up, angst, romance etc.

I hate Masood, such a boring character! He should've left with Zainab,

I honestly can't stand that character.

I really wish they'd stop wasting time and get her back with Phil. Who knows if she's going to renew her contact, lets make the most of her while we've got her?

All of that said - I'm over a month behind and the desire to catch up is becoming more and more daunting. I really wish they'd get someone in there who could properly fix this show. The daily shows are solid and reminiscent of old EE, but there's no long term arcs worth a damn!

Exactly! I was beyond thrilled to hear she was returning, loved the trailer when she was in a wedding dress & descended into the square...

I despise her "relationship" with Jack. Ugh.

Read it a your own risk!
BIG news is that

I haven't watched in a quite a while. I think Janine is back or coming back so I might try to marathon some this weekend.

Last time I watched it wasn't terrible, just somewhat depressing, though several things interested me, which I'm sure are over with by now or in a different direction, like Lola/Phil/Sharon, Denise/Ian, Dot/Fatboy/Poppy.

I'm excited for the news that Samantha Womack is returning- only for a 6 month stint though. Be nice to see her with Roxy again, and also her scenes with Kat.

I really liked to see Joey & Lauren scenes. In The Vic and outside when he told her he still cared. Can't wait to see future episodes with them. My favorrite couple in Walford
