Am I reading that right, Days gained 2,000 viewers?

It looks like all soaps ratings are sucking.

Thanks for posting.

Am I reading correctly that this time last year there were 440,000 more people watching Days than this year? I just want to make sure I understand what I'm looking at here!! Thanks! :)

Not me.

Quality means nothing and the worst part for soaps is that stunts no longer mean anything. For most of this decade, many of the soaps were living and dying by sweeps stunts and big events/returns. Now, not even those get any increase at all. GH went all out the past two years bringing back JJ and VM. It's had big events and big names (James Franco) and has crashed. OLTL had a huge month long event with the Eli stuff and it got them nowhere.

I think what you see is what you get now. I think you may see higher during the holidays or when there is bad weather but I think for most soaps 1.9/2.0 is the normal high water mark now.

The numbers have been bad for a long time  .

The only difference now is GH has sunk big time and Y&R is sinking in 18-34. The other soaps have been struggling they way they are now for most of this year.

Yeah, GH is in serious ratings danger, even if it saw some gains this week.

The other thing with GH is that it's one of the show's you know can't be doing well budget-wise, even if ABC owns them. Not with all they've done in the past two years. If their numbers don't improve, they will probably see some pretty big cuts, at least to the cast.

Please write 4 Bryan Dattilo, Give him a love interest.

Looks like people are sick of the same old crappy writing,. NoBody wants to watch Safe versus Ejami 24 hrs a day. I am one of the viewers Days lost, my mom is another. Looks like Days is losing viewers, hullo, stop putting Safe Ejami front burner. Bring back folks like Drake and Dee and Bryan Dattilo and Ken Coraday might actually see a rise in numbers. Looks like the only ones enjoying the show are the 12 to 17 year olds. Haven't watched the show in a week. Not missing it or the fan wars either.

"Relax nobody's having sex.... at least not yet"

GH can afford to lose alot of characters, too bad they wont get rid of the ones that have run their course like Sonny, Jason, etc.

When is the last time AMC has had a 1.0 or better in the 18-49 demo? Seems like forever.

Honestly, IMO, OLTL's best writing always comes in the last 4 months of the year lol.

Well, I'm not shocked. I don't see any soap shooting up in the ratings again. There are simply too many other options out there nowadays.

However, if Days had been able to keep the teen sceen circa 2000 (all of them) and still had them all now, I believe we'd be in a much different position. I know the loss of Belle and Shawn were a huge blow to me and the main reason I stopped watching at the time.

That's why Shelle should be back. I have been constantly complaining about the Sami overload but at least we had a different set of that age group to balance it out at least a little.
