CBS To Renew Daytime Drama 'The Bold And The Beautiful' For Two More Years CBS is sticking with both of its daytime dramas for the forceable future. The network just gave top-rated The Young and the Restless a three-year renewal. Now I hear that it is also close to a deal for a two-year pickup of The Young and the Restless' companion The Bold and the Beautiful through the 2012-13 season. Both soaps were created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. The Bold and the Beautiful, which premiered in 1987, is the only half-hour daytime drama on the air. http://www.deadline.com/2010/11/cbs-to-renew-the-bold-and-the-beautiful-for-two-more-years/ |

Hopefully the pick up contains provisions for an HD upgrade. |

Good news for soaps! DAYS, B&B and Y&R are all secured for now. Awesome. And we all know GH isn't going anywhere. OLTL and AMC are still in danger, I guess, but I'm predicting them to stick around at least through 2012. |

OLTL is clearly next, IMO, but I don't think it will be for a little while still. I always saw Y&R, DAYS, GH, and B&B, as the last four soaps on the air. |

Thank goodness that Young and the Restless and now it looks like B & B are safe. I just wonder if Guilding Light and As the world turns would have done better if they had gone on a cable station or had gone online. |

This is great news, I think CBS is happy now that they cut the weak links out of their daytime line up. They have a pretty diverse offering for daytime which is what I think they were after. AMC is next in 2012, IMO. |

OLTL has made an improvement, I can't see it going anywhere anytime soon. |

This isn't one of my shows, but a soap being renewed is always good news in this environment. |
