I see they're keeping up the long tradition of headbutts.

I found that amusing.

I'm still not sold on the show though. I find it very strange that they can be remaking entire scenes and episodes, but losing the black humor in all of them that made the original so great.

I just watched the second episode. I really enjoyed it but there was far too much William H. Macy for my liking. He annoys me. Also, I was disappointed that we saw so little of Ian.

The Fiona/Steve stuff was great. I also got a kick out of Sheila sodomizing Frank.

I don't mind Frank when he's in scenes with Sheila. But they really need to concentrate on the kids because WHM is far and away the weak link of the show.

I watched second episode and like you all said there was a bit too much of Frank/WHM. I don't actually dislike him like before, but still I wish they would concentrate more on the kids.

But I enjoyed it nevertheless. :)

I'm gonna watch episode 3 tonight.

Kev is so awful!
Nah, I like him. The nakedness helps, of course.

Tonight's episode (Canada gets it on Monday) was the most hilarious yet.

The blond girl is the biggest fucking slew of all time.

Nope, he's such an obnoxious douche in the US version!

via Showtime press note:

Despite facing some seriously tough competition – the Golden Globes, the AFC Championship, SAG Awards, NFL Pro Bowl and in the next two weeks the Superbowl and the Grammys… To-date, SHAMELESS is SHOWTIME’s best performing freshman drama (with four weeks of total data, outpacing DEXTER, DEAD LIKE ME, THE TUDORS and THE L WORD’s freshman seasons).

Sunday Night’s episode delivered 1.45 million total viewers, with 1.11 million viewers at 10 p.m. and an additional 345,000 viewers at 11 p.m. (As a reminder, the show premiered to 982,000 total viewers at 10 p.m. and 1.3 million viewers for the night on January 9).

The audience composition for SHAMELESS is shifting, posting significant gains with young adults. The fourth episode was up 53% among adults 18-34, up 69% in women 18-34 and up 45% in men 18-34 vs. the 10 p.m. premiere on January 9.

Across all platforms (including On Demand, replays and DVR) to-date, SHAMELESS has delivered over 3.6 million viewers for its premiere episode. This is the best debut week for a SHOWTIME freshman drama.

This episode was the best one yet.

Drew, on the UK series, how did they write Lip out?

I don't have Showtime. How does this Mickey compare to the UK Mickey? The UK Mickey is one of my favorite TV characters of all time.

I haven't watched the UK version, but with the US one Mickey hasn't had too much screen time yet. Him and Ian justed fucked for the first time in the last episode though. Does that happen in the UK version?
