I wonder if the Frank thing is a cultural difference with thee British. In america, we don't always have the most positive view of the poor who game the welfare system.
The majority of British people don't approve of benefit fraud. The British version shows Frank in a much more unflattering light than the american version. The British version of Frank is unflinching in depicting his repugnancy.
I would say in America, they are must more hostile towards individuals on welfare. It just isn't entertaining. He's too much of a low life and he has ZERO redeeming characteristics.

Its William Macy's fault. He is trying to make Frank a love-to-hate character, but he is utter scum.

Just watched episodes two and three of the new season.

Butterface dying was really sad. When Frank started showing genuine affection for her I thought maybe her death would change him for the better, but clearly I was wrong. Him lying to the transplant team was low. He has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I was disappointed by Fiona having sex with Craig. I wanted to feel sorry for her at the end but I couldn't. She brought the misery on herself. I did like that she seemed to recognize the mistake she made though. Unlike Frank, she actually has a conscience and she realizes when she's screwed up.

Not too interested in the Lip/Karen/Jody stuff, but that will probably change next week based on the promo. It looks like some interesting stuff happens between the three of them.

Looking forward to next Sunday!

Frank killed Butterface. And they still try play him as a love-hate character. Hate-hate here.

^ITA. Frank's character needs to be gone. His ass ain't cute. He murdered Butterface. Its not some cutesy plotline, IMO. Did this happen in the UK version?

Oh great, in a few episode Fiona is going to be in super cold bitch mode, AGAIN.

Frank is scum. That was beyond low what he did. But enjoyed the episode. A friend told me that Fionna's hottie was actually Lady Gaga's boyfriend. Is that true?

I'm in the minority, but I love Frank. I love them all and everything about the show, except Steve.

Kev, are you talking about Taylor Kinney, a.k.a, Mason Lockwood from The Vampire Diaries? If so, I have not heard that bit of news at all.

Omg. Frank not telling Dottie about that heart was one of the most disgusting things I've seen on TV! That was a NEW LOW for him, and that is saying a LOT! Unbelievable.

I really admired Fiona going back and earning all the money she stole from that lady's bag. I knew she would turn out to be a bitch, LMAO at the argument they had in the street.

I was disappointed Fiona slept with Craig too, it was disheartening and gross seeing them pork in that car! Ugh! I still feel bad for her though. I wasn't excited at all when I saw Steve...

Pretty solid episode tonight. Loved seeing Brit Morgan (Debbie, True Blood) as Craig's crazy wife.

I wish we got more Ian, He's the most underused cast member of all.

I'm kinda pissed at the ending. I was enjoying Sheila being out of the house and now she will never come out again.

The highlight of the night... Zach McGowan's cock! :sheep:

Wow. So Karen's pregnant? I'm not sure why I didn't see that coming considering she's slept with half of Chicago, but I didn't expect that at all. I thought she might end up pregnant last season but the thought didn't even cross my mind this season.

Emmy Rossum was amazing this week. Fiona's breakdown in the bathroom was heartbreaking. The look of disgust and desperation in her eyes as she glared at herself in the mirror was... wow. Give Emmy an Emmy!

I've only seen the first episode of season 2 so far...Showtime had it up on their site for free. I truly hope I will be able to see all the episodes online/via torrents somehow.

I was surprised it didn't happen sooner. LOL. I loved how it was revealed!

Emmy was AMAZING in that scene.

I could not agree more, I'm really disappointed they are doing nothing with him. Is he ever going to tell Mandy that he's sleeping with her brother? Is he ever going to tell anyone else in his family besides Fiona and Lip that he's gay? So much story potential with him right now and they're just giving him...nothing.

I have a little hope though, now that they had Lip sleep with Mandy. She's sleeping with Lip, her brother is sleeping with Ian, who is Lip's brother. LOL. If the show is smart, they'd capitalize off that!

I thought it was really disturbing at Deb's sleepover when Carl & his friend were contemplating taking Holly out to that van with DUCT TAPE. Were they talking about raping her?! Glad that didn't happen.

Besides that I loved the story progression with Deb and her sleepover. That little Actress is great. Also Ethel and her new BF were hilarious!

This show is starting to get a reputation for writing lines that they think is funny, when it is really just f*ckin' sick. Example, Frank killing Butherface, Karen peeing on her dad's grave, the Amish girl killing her dad, etc. They really need to stop because it is a turnoff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Karen rape Frank? I don't know why he should feel grateful? I can see the writers making Frank the dad, which I hope isn't the case.

The Lip/Karen/Ian/Karen's brother storyline has potential.

The guy from Reba looks like a total creep on this show, but I guess it works considering his character.

I agree with you on the Frank killing Butterface, but the rest I'm ok with: Karen peeing on her daddy's grave was in character - she has major daddy issues regarding approval from him and massive rage from not getting it - now she'll never get it and that anger inside her will never go away. Its no surprise she has hooked up with an older guy over Lip.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Ethel (the amish girl) didn't kill her dad - It was husband and she had no hand in it. In fact she will be devastated when she finds out - she loves him.

As for Fiona - please please please don't go back to Steve. He is a douchebag. That is all.

^With regards to Karen, I get she has anger issues over her dad and it is in character, but there were stronger ways for the writers to execute that scene, and it came across as if the writers were trying to make that scene comical. That totally undermined the impact of that scene. It would have played out better if it was a bit more serious. Urinating on someone's grave isn't funny.

Wasn't Ethel married to her dad? I thought it was implied she asked her boyfriend to kill him?

ITA, about Steve. Steve and Fiona have zero chemistry. She was better with the police officer.

She was married to the leader of her cult, one of his many wives and the father of her kid. She is in awe of him and expresses her longing to see him again often. Her boyfriend interpreted her story of having sex as rape (which it technically is) but it wasn't the way she feels about it. yet.

A few thoughts from tonight's episode

Tonight's show was probably one of my favorites. Joan Cusack needs to submit this episode for the Emmy's

Louise Fletcher is amazing! She is going to be a character you actually love to hate. She's a vile bitch when around Frank, but a sweet Grammy when around the kids.

I'm glad Esther decided not to go back to the cult and instead run away with Malik. I'm happy this storyline is over.

Again, my only complaint is the Ian situation. He has nothing to do. No storyline. So much potential
