Thanks for posting.

Nick and Sharon won best couple that year for Y&R.

Y&R used to be so good, I remember loving every single storyline and watching all of them.

1997 I thought was an uneven year for Y&R, but I loved the way Kay Alden tweaked the stories starting in early/mid 1998. That was a great time for the show.

1998-1999 was also the last time I enjoyed Nick and Sharon.

A year off, but Carl I LOVED 1997. I found it much better than 1998 where the stories seemed to drag on forever. I have most of both years on DVD and definitely preferred Bill Bell's stuff. Once Kay Alden took over in 1998, it wasn't bad, just dragged on and I thought she had a more narrow character focus. It was definitely a different tone.

The Maddie saga was when Erica "adopted" a new baby that turned out to be Maria's dead baby, right? I remember this story receiving a lot of mixed reviews, so I am surprised to see it under "Story of the year."
