Looks like the brass at ABC Daytime are just as frustrated by the state of All My Children as we are. Mouse House sources have told Yours Soaptastically that Brian Frons has allegedly already contacted controversial ex-AMC scribe Megan McTavish several times about taking over the reins of the show when David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski's contracts are up. I'm hearing the former Guiding Light head writers' deals expire in March. I never thought I'd say this, but I wouldn't be opposed to a McTavish redux. Unaborted fetuses and poisoned pancakes aside, her stints at AMC proved much more watchable overall than anything Chuck Pratt or the Peapack Refugees have come up with and from what I gather ABC is really desperate to get a handle on AMC's writer situation. At the very least, McTavish knows how to write the Kane women and Greenlee (Rebecca Budig), as my boy Luke Kerr has pointed out often on the DC podcast. Now you know the drill, ABC will deny every single word of this, but come on, how many times have I been wrong about The Mouse House suds (*coughs* Lucci's paycut, AMC moving out West, Jonathan Jackson's return as Lucky) ;-) http://daytimeconfidential.zap2it.com/2011/01/07/rumor-report-is-brian-frons-courting-megan-mctavish-for-all-my-children?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter |

Holy he*l can I say in this case I really don't blame the writing. It's Frons idiotic interference in AMC that killed that show and while I hate Pratt, WTF is Branco talking about. His AMC did bring up ratings and he killed off Babe didn't he something he will always be blessed for. Someone fire Frons or just put AMC out of it;s misery. This is the hack who was hoping Lucci wouldn't move with the show. Dear Frons AMC would be DOA without La Lucci yoy hack. |

IMO I don't think she could be any worse than what we've gotten in the past since she last left. I'd honestly take her 2003-2005 tenure at AMC back over what we have now. I am quite fond of D&D's AMC right now but the biggest thing I can't stand about them is their focus on new characters. (I legit just read that they have no plans to bring back fan-faves, but they do plan on extending the castillo family and making Caleb the shows new Patriarch. That just sounds like a disaster to me). I agree that McTavish could be fine if she had someone writing with her, but I do think sometimes she can be really good by herself. She writes pretty well for couples to. Also if AMC is looking to change writers, they also need to look into replacing Julie Carruthers as EP, to. |

It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.

All I can say about McTavish is she's likely good for 6 months and is then a fricking disaster. Hire her to a 6 month contract Frons and then get rid of her and hire Pratt for 6 months and get rid of him. |

And what about JHC? Why does she get a pass when they have these turnstyle writers coming in all the time and the show continues to suck? |

Because while JHC sucks just like JFP sucks on GH, in JHC's case I don't believe she has any real power. I think Frons controls everything at AMC and JHC is there in name only. |

Can't they give someone else a shot at salvaging this mess? Mactavish has earned her tiara as one of the biggest hacks ever to write a soap! Her last stint had her bragging that she didn't know who the killer was in her own murder mystery until the end! Kay Alden showed interest! She who will not be named showed interest! Lorraine Broderick could write better than Pratt, the Peapack Poisoners, or ESPECIALLY Mactavish! What happened ABC, Lynn Latham was busy? |

Remember when they hired the currrent writing team the rumor was that no one wanted the job at AMC because of Frons. Maybe McTavish is the only one they can get. If that's the case just let the current team ride out the wave. At least the show isn't totally offensive yet. |

I would taken anything over what we have right now. AMC is losing it's loyal viewers at a rapid rate. What's DK & DS's answer? Forcus on their newbies and recast that no one really knows or even cares about. I agree that's a disater! Griffin, Cara, NuMarissa, Caleb, Asher could leave tomorrow and replaced with fan favorites or old cast memebers and they wouldn't be missed at all. JHC should be out the door too. |

I don't get it. I haven't been this much invested in AMC ever. McTavish returning would immediately tune me out. |

^^^ I couldn't agree more. I am enjoying AMC more than I ever have. Of course its not perfect but I feel the show is on its way to be. I hope Megan McTavish doesn't come back. |
