With Tamara Braun rejoining Days of our Lives this spring as Taylor Walker, replacing Natalia Livingston, she last played Ava Vitali on the soap in 2008. There have been actors and actresses who rejoined their soaps by playing different characters after playing their previous one. Here are some examples. I thought of some others for GL. Jordan Clarke played a character named Dr. Tim Ryan from 74-76 and of course he is known for Billy Lewis that he played on in off since 1983. Back in the 70s Larry Gates was on the program and then years later came back and played HB Lewis. Joie Lenz played Reva's clone before they brought her on as Michelle (though that may not count exactly.) Jeff Branson (last actor to play Shayne Lewis) played one of the guys in the recreated 1977 flashbacks...I think he was Alan, but not 100% on that. Beth Chamberlin (Beth) played another character (a Faux Beth I think) years before she was hired to play Beth for real. |

Well it's one thing when they have one actor play characters who are twins or are lookalikes for storyline puporse. But I HATE when they have one actor play two parts that don't have anything in common (i.e. Josh Taylor playing Roman and Chris; Wayne N. playnig Roman and Alex; Judi Evans playing Bonnie and Adrianne). It's stupid and I hate it. Isn't there enough other actors to fill in the role? Or if they really do want to cast that particular actor, does it have to be a new character? Can't they have him/her play the same character they played before?? |

it doesn't bother me to have the same actor/actress play a new role on the same soap; i'm more upset when long established parts are recast. THAT bothers me more than anything else. |

Days did recycling on smaller roles in the 1980s. Steve Eastin played one of Kimberly's johns a few years before he was Alfred Jericho. Joe Mascolo played a doctor in the first year or so of Days. Dee and Andrea Hall both did scenes as Samantha Evans and Hattie Adams. If you want to count lookalikes: Bill Hayes as Doug Williams and Byron Carmichael Thaao Penghlis as Andre and Tony DiMera Charles Shaughnessy as Shane and Drew Donovan Robert Kelker-Kelly as Bo Brady and Mitch |

I don't remember the actor's name, but the man playing Sean on General Hospital used to play Chase a few years ago. |

John Aniston played the prison doctor when Bill Horton and Doug Williams were cell mates! He originally auditioned for the role of Doug! Quinn Redeker had THREE roles on Y&R! He originally played a sleaze ball client of Rose and her henchman when they were in the "escort" business! Then he was Nick Reed, Nikki and Casey's sexually abusive father whom Nikki killed with an iron as he attacked her!Nick had a little ONS with Jill when she was married to Stuart Brooks! Brenda Dickson was in the part! When BD's Jill saw a park bench bum fall at her feet, his first words were "Don't I know you from somewhere?" and he became Rex Sterling!

carolyn conwell played mary williams for years on Y&r. Prior to that she had a stint as a hooker and played Marion,Ron becker's mother. Anthony Herrera played Mark Galloway on ATWT prior to James Stenbeck and Kim Zimmer was on OLTL as Bonnie before playing Echo. |

One really big one was Beverlee McKinsey on ANOTHER WORLD. She originally played Steve's dowdy farmer old sister Emma Frame Ordway (mother of Molly Ordway and, later, Frankie Frame) before she reappeared on the show (looking COMPLETELY different) as the legendary Iris Carrington. |

GH - Sarah Brown played Carly Benson and Claudia Zacharra. Y&R - Sabryn Genet played a girl Matt Clark/Nick/Sharon all went to college with. I forgot the name of her character. She would later on play Tricia Dennison. |
