According to the Hollywood Reporter, Steven Spielberg will serve as an executive producer along with Justin Falvey, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Smash focuses on a group of people who come together to put on a Broadway show about Marilyn Monroe. Huston will play Eileen, a smart and cynical theater producer. Huston will join star Debra Messing, who was previously cast as lyricist Julia and Broadway star Christian Borle, who will play the show’s gay musical composer. The role marks Angelica Huston's first foray into regular series television.
