Huge OLTL Casting News! Roger Howarth Returns!
After months of speculation, Digest has received exclusive confirmation that Emmy-winning actor Roger Howarth (ex-Todd; ex-Paul, ATWT) is indeed returning to Llanview and will begin filming in May. "I am looking forward to returning to OLTL," says Howarth. "We are going to have a lot of fun telling this story and I am excited to see how it will unfold." In 1992, Howarth originated the role of Todd Manning and quickly became a fan fave, nabbing a Daytime Emmy in 1994 and two Soap Opera Digest Awards. After leaving OLTL in 2003, Howarth played ATWT's Paul until that show's cancellation in 2010. Rumors surrounding the actor's possible comeback resurfaced earlier this year after OLTL embarked on a storyline involving Téa's mysterious brother Tomas and his ties to Todd's past. Howarth, who has been in Los Angeles for pilot season, was reportedly courted by a West Coast soap as well as OLTL. Details surrounding how the actor will return to the fold are still up in the air. "We are thrilled to have Roger return to ONE LIFE TO LIVE," says Executive Producer Frank Valentini. "As OLTL viewers know, Trevor St. John has been playing the role of Todd Manning since 2003. We have a great story planned that will involve both actors." Be sure check back here and on Facebook and Twitter (@soapdigest) for more late-breaking news.

I would imagine Mr. Howarth does''nt work cheap.Would OLTL go to all the exspense of bringing Him back if the show was about to be cancelled? Sounds like a good sign.

Sounds more like damage control from ABC to make people forget about cancellation rumors.

For all we know, they asked him to return for the last few months. Wasn`t he all against returning long term?

Too bad they just fired Susan Haskell! Ugh. Another missed Marty opportunity here. I wonder if they axed her and Kerwin to free up the cash to bring Howarth back?

I'd rather have TSJ any day over RH. If his acting is as bad as it was on ATWT I'll pass on RH completely. I do wonder what they are going to do with both actors now, one has to be a fake obviously.

It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.

I enjoyed Howarth's work back then. However, I don't see much point in bringing him back now. I wonder what what this means for TSJ?

I loved RH as Todd but TSJ has really made the role his own. Roger Howarth has also really lost some of his acting props. I don't know how I feel about this.

As long as Trevor doesn't get UNFAIRLY shafted just to accommodate his return, I think this is great news. Trevor is one of the FEW recasts that I have actually ENJOYED. I enjoy Trevor, dare I say it, more than I enjoyed Roger in the role. :o :o :o :o

As long as St. John remains the real Todd, I'm fine with Howarth returning.
