The Brighter Day 1960; Compelling episode

 I just found this amazing episode of the CBS 1950s and 60s soap The Brighter Day on youtube. So great. The episode is one long monologue by a lawyer defending a man on trial for killing someone who turns out to have killed.......well just watch.

I just found this amazing episode of the CBS 1950s and 60s soap The Brighter Day on youtube. So great. The episode is one long monologue by a lawyer defending a man on trial for killing someone who turns out to have killed.......well just watch.

UNCLE DRU!! I never got to see him in action on ANOTHER WORLD where he was more an "elder statesman" sort of character! This was refreshing! I never saw a scene from THE BRIGHTER DAY either! I remember my grandmother talking about it and wondering what it was and why it was gone! Thanks for this!

I watched this on youtube the other day and was ENTHRALLED by the closing statements. I wasn't sure, but I thought that was Mitchell Dru pre-ATWT & AW.

 I only ever caught him on ANOTHER WORLD! The first time I remember seeing him, Lee Randolph and Missy Palmer were calling him "Uncle Dru"! I have no idea how old I was but that stuck!

 This is incredible. In fact, I included it in my upcoming article on greatest soap moments.

How he got through that amazing monologue is beyond me. And what a twist. So stunningly soapy.
