Soaps.com sources tell us that Hapka's making a return to the show. He'll return from Baltimore a stronger person, persistent to get Melanie (Molly Burnett) away from Dario Hernandez (Francisco San Martin). Mark Hapka portrayed Nathan Horton on "Days Of Our Lives" since June 16, 2009 and in January of 2010, the actor was unceremoniously let go. Soaps.com interviewed Hapka about the surprising twist, who told us, "It was creative differences and a 'writers choice' for Nathan's 'departure.' Apparently the twist in the stretched out storyline of Melanie and Nathan's soul connection was that when finally given a chance to be together... somehow they don't." Here's hoping Dario will be hitting the road shortly after Nathan's return.

I know I said I didn't expect it, and I really didn't, but I think it's a good choice if they were to bring back a younger character. He had good momentum around Alice's funeral, becoming more integrated with the Hortons. And it makes sense since I expect the formula of the 90s is returning, to have a Nathan/Melanie/Dario triangle. Could it be an actual triangle where I want her with both of them? Color me hopeful! And I'm not even a big Melanie fan! I hope they don't villify Nathan or Dario to fuel the triangle.

I hope Dario doesn't get ousted for this. I actually LOVE him with Melanie! I loved Mel with Nathan as well, I think there's potential for this to be a dynamite triangle!

In EJami heaven! Posts: 560 Group: Members Member #357 Joined: September 8, 2007	Since the only time I find Mel bearable is when she's in scenes with Maggie or Nathan, this makes me a very happy camper. The idea of running off the Hernandez family one by one is also rather delightful.

I'm really not interested in a Nathan/Melanie/Dario triangle though. Ick. I hope that's just speculation on Christine's part.

I think Nathan has a lot of potential to become the next great Horton male lead that is lacking on this show. Plus his presence gives us more hope that Maggie will be shown.
